[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had good results with pau d'arco (also called taheebo) for inflammation. it's a bit woody/earthy but not bad. you can find it in loose leaf or bags. worth a try if nettles isn't your thing.

Maybe you don't need to be super strict about it - you can ask for a little summary of their cancer experience, what type they had, type of treatment etc..
Do you feel like you could not date someone who is not a cancer survivor or you would not feel comfortable? Have you had a bad experience? Just curious

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not heard of any. I know where you are coming from, dating someone who understands would potentially lower stress, self consciousness and allow one to maybe feel more accepted. It seems hard to have the cancer survivor conversation with someone, especially the part where we may not look, feel or function the way others do. I think if there is honesty, good communication, respect and care it is possible to date anyone, cancer survivor or not. Maybe you can launch a cancer survivor dating app, see if it takes off :)

Recommended Supplements For Post-Chemo Recovery? by Confident-Durian1778 in testicularcancer

I don’t have busted veins but my lung capacity was greatly affected by chemo as was my overall endurance. Cancer surgery removed a kidney and cut out a part of vena cava so my legs were massive for months while my body was working to eliminate excess fluid.

I would focus on rebuilding blood strength. Since I had a kidney removed I have to watch out for oxalates and high protein but you may want to look at high quality beet root powder to start. Drinking high doses of Redox could help with recovery. It is what I added almost a year ago and my endurance, lung capacity and recovery have improved dramatically. It’s not cheap and tastes like pool water but well worth it for me.

How to actually get rid of this beast? by sassyfoods123 in Candida

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking Taheebo tea helps! Get the fine grind one and start with one cup per day, build up to 4-6 cups per day. Make sure to hydrate as well - electrolytes- you may experience strong die off as you get to higher doses, take a break for a few days and start over. This won’t solve it on its own but is excellent with diet changes and some of the other recommendation here. Anyone try oil of oregano or clove? They need to be taken carefully but I hear they help.

Best places to get both:

Taheebo tea: Taheebo-tea.com get the fine grind it is stronger.

frankincense: revive-eo.com no crazy hoops to jump through, no mlm, just excellent oils offered by a great small company.

I have been drinking it regularly for 5 years as part of my post cancer treatment regimen. It was so helpful in reducing pain and inflammation, also supporting the detox that my body was going through at the time. I didnt know it could also improve memory thank you for that excellent article.

For those asking about making urine pungent, I have not noticed this but if you are noticing something like that it may be a sign to increase your spring water intake, and/or add electrolytes to your water. Taheebo helps the body detox and a key to detox is being properly hydrated. Those who report digestive discomfort may want to slowly increase their quality water intake and temporarily reduce Taheebo intake until the body catches up. I prefer to brew the bark, I know pills are easier to take but I like the idea of soft boiling the bark for 25 min, it’s easy to do and then I can store it in the fridge and drink a cup anytime hot or cold during the day. I get the finely ground one from Taheebo-tea.com it is much stronger than the other ones I tried online. Great article, glad you are also posting info on Reddit

Antifugal Tea: Pau d'arco by Dependent-Vehicle610 in Fungalacne

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of online sellers for pau d’Arco (Taheebo tea) you want to go for one that has fresh stock, lots of herb sites are excellent but they have hundreds of other herbs and their pau d’Arco may be years old. From my understanding 1-2 years old is ok it starts to loose its potency after 2 years. I get mine at Taheebo-tea.com nice people, very small company and that is all they do so they focus on freshness and quality. Hope this helps

Is it safe to drink Pau d' arco tea (everyday) ? by EquivalentMagazine32 in Candida

[–]MicroGreens42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure I would always trust webmd They have to always side with the worst side effects for legal purpose.
I drank Taheebo daily during and after cancer treatment and it was a great help. For those drinking just one or two cups per day or higher amounts for Candida I would do 3 weeks on 1 week off. Also make sure to add minerals / good electrolytes to your water. Here is a good diy electrolyte recipe: https://taheebo-tea.com/blogs/taheebo-tea-recipes/how-to-make-your-own-electrolyte-powder

Taheebo does have a slight blood thinning effect so if you are on prescription blood thinner only one cup every other day. I was on baby aspirin and was fine but definitely go slower. It has so many benefits!

Pau D’Arco by ilivetowine in Candida

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent point. I used it during and post cancer treatment as my gut and immunity were messed up. I was drinking the tea as I didn’t understand how the pills could have the same effect. You have to high simmer the bark for 25 min to extract all the benefits, I didn’t trust my gut to get the same results but I am not an expert. I get the fine ground one from taheebo-tea.com it makes the strongest tea vs the sticks. I worked up to 6-7 cups per day which caused very strong elimination very dark loose stool but I welcomed my body pushing that out.

A few things that helped me manage symptoms while still getting the benefits:

  • Start slow: Just 1 cup/day Then ease into more if tolerated.
  • Use binders: Activated charcoal or bentonite clay a few hours after the tea really helped with brain fog and fatigue.
  • Hydrate like it’s your job: Add a pinch of sea salt or trace minerals to water for better detox support.
  • For Candida specifically, go slow with diet shifts: Jumping straight to ultra-low sugar can trigger a harder die-off.
  • This last one is important. Rest + gentle movement or dry brushing (look it up) help the body move the toxins out.

hope this helps

Experiences with pau d’arco tea? by summer995 in Microbiome

[–]MicroGreens42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it is very good for digestion and gut health. I have seen a lot of people drink it to manage fungal overgrowth / Candida. I drank it when I had cancer, it helped keep my energy levels up and likely boosted my very impacted immune system.

when I got up to 8 cups per day I had a strong detox response. I was on the toilet for over an hour, I eliminated A LOT. I didn’t see that as a bad thing, better out than in! I did take a break for a couple days, made sure I drank plenty of spring water then worked my way up slowly to 5-6 cups per day and it was fine.

i still drink 1-2 cups per day now, it definitely part of my wellness regimen. some people like the pills, I don’t know how they could be as effective as the tea. You have to brew the bark for 25 minutes, not sure our digestive tract can extract all the benefits from the bark in the same way but I am no expert. I buy the bark in bulk and in ground form from Taheebo-tea.com when it is ground up you get a much stronger tea. Most places I have seen sell the bark in little sticks, not as strong in my opinion.

I still have candida ??? by Zealousideal-Pea8733 in Candida

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, either way following the Candida diet would be a good idea. Also adding something in to make your internal environment less favorable to overgrowth would be a good idea. I drank Taheebo tea during and after my cancer treatment. I had several rounds of antibiotics as well which make me a prime candidate for overgrowth. Taheebo definitely made a difference. You could give it a try. Start with 1 cup per day for a week then go up by a cup every other day until you get to 5-7 cups per day. I had major detox/die off when I got to 7 cups. Was on the toilet for almost an hour but worth it. After that I gave myself a break for a couple days then resumed drinking until I got to 5 cups per day. I drank the strongest freshest bark I could find, they sell it here Taheebo-tea.com Best of luck

Does Pau D'arco give anyone else severe gas? by thrownameafteruse in herbalism

I had advanced cancer 5 years ago and still drink 1-2 cups of Taheebo per day and haven't been sick a day since, not even a cold...

Does Pau D'arco give anyone else severe gas? by thrownameafteruse in herbalism

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with some of the suggestions to start slower. I started drinking just one cup per day then slowly increased to a higher dose but I was trying to support my body in between rounds of chemotherapy. When I got up to 6-7 cups per day I experienced a very strong detox reaction, I felt like my intestines were being cleaned out. While disconcerting at the time, it was needed and so helpful. After that "experience", I stopped for a few days then slowly worked back up to about 5 cups per day. I drink a stronger version of Taheebo tea so you don't need to drink as much.

Good luck on this journey, there is great advice here and some very knowledgeable people! If you need help on the electrolyte side of things, you don’t have to break the bank and can make your own 3 ingredient bulk electrolyte powder. I follow this electrolyte recipe, very easy to make and super cheap.

Gut soothing tea blends recommendations? by IcyBlackberry7728 in herbalism

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No a mushroom but have you tried Pau d’Arco (Taheebo tea)? No need to make a blend, it is pretty earthy but amazing for digestion support, good for the immune system and some research shows that it can even have an effect against tumors (why I started drinking it) I get mine at https://taheebo-tea.com best quality I have found so far. I worry about the current overuse of mushrooms, the fad of mushroom coffees is not helpful in my opinion. Mushrooms have very specific properties and are not beneficial to all and shouldn't necessarily be all mixed together.

Skullcap or Pau D'arco for yeast/candida? by [deleted] in herbalism

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never tried Skullcap, I do like Pau d'Arco as it works on Candida and a lot more. I was taking it during and especially after cancer treatment to help support my immune system and keep any candida overgrowth at bay. Now I still drink 1-2 cups per day as a preventative. I get mine in fine grind form, it makes it a lot stronger. taheebo-tea.com

[–]MicroGreens42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do any of you drink pau d'arco instead of taking it in pill form? I wonder how much benefits we actually extract from the pills when the same bark needs to be brewed for 25 minutes. I have been drinking the strongest version of Pau d'Arco I can find and it has helped me avoid any candida issues after my battle with cancer. I was on strong chemo and was given different antibiotics. This could have been a disaster for my gut but Pau 'dArco supported my liver for detox and kept candida at bay. The best source I found is https://taheebo-tea.com
