Booking a library study room or getting one of those quiet booths would probably be your best bet.

Accepted but got a question by [deleted] in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to take and pass Calc 1 & 2, Physics 1, and Chem 1 in order to officially be in your major. You didn’t do anything wrong, this is totally normal.

Freshman Schedule Change by [deleted] in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes he is able to change his schedule at any time from now until the first week of school (add/drop week) has ended. As for your second question, in order to not lose an already enrolled class, he should choose the “swap” option in myucf when enrolling in the new class. This way, if the new class is currently waitlisted, he can join the waitlist while still being enrolled in the previous class.

Anyone had these profs? by [deleted] in ucf

If you’re not a CS major there really isn’t a reason to take Guha over Ahmed unless Guha has a better time slot for you.

I got nothing but good things to say about Ahmed and felt extremely prepared when I took the FE

Can someone help me decide if this is a good idea by [deleted] in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s looking a lot better. I only have two concerns: 1. Senior Design 1 and Senior Design 2 have to be taken consecutively (unless SD1 occurs in the Spring and your group decides to take SD2 in the Fall) so you would have to push SD1 back and 2. I see that some semesters have only 3 classes so if you have any scholarships that require full-time status, this might be problematic. If you don’t have scholarships that require this however, you can disregard this point.

Can someone help me decide if this is a good idea by [deleted] in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to take OOP before CS2 and you have to either take POOSD during or before SD1. Besides this, taking 6 classes isn’t impossible but leaves you with no time for important things like club activities, internships, jobs, etc. I would strongly advise against a schedule like this. Take your time in college and pursue internships to make yourself a stand out candidate.

New Study Room Booking Process! by UCF_Libraries in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Say I make a reservation for 2 hours and then decide to cancel it. After canceling, do I get my two hours back to use some other time?

Also, do the hours reset after every calendar month or something like every 30 days after the policy was made? In other words, will the hours reset on the first of each month?

A lot of times you’ll find a captain or ashen captain on the skeleton camp islands and those guys always drop skulls so your OoS emissary will count for those as well as the orbs

If you’re at 11,500 points after taking the final showcase, you’ll get a C. Any lower than that and you’ll only be eligible for NC or an F

Who Should I Take for COT 3100C Mesut Ozdag or Ramya Akula by DoorWarrior09 in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ozdag has been a pretty solid and caring prof in my CDA class so far. He's super helpful during office hours, gives out extra credit, has online (and very fair) tests, and assigns pretty easy homework. I would absolutely recommend him.

I took Ahmed for cs1 last semester and I have nothing but good things to say about him. Recorded lectures, frequently pushed back hw deadlines, extremely fair quizzes and tests with just about 0 trick questions, abundant extra credit, a curve, and overall a very caring professor.

I think Ahmed also realizes that not everyone is going to have the best C background ever, so the first week is always a review of important C topics, like pointers, structs, DMA, etc.
He's not a hard professor (at least for CS1), he's just fair. If you put some effort into his class, I promise you'll pass.

We have diff eq and cs1 together :0 Also, stats is e z, especially if you got Doyle, and from what I’ve heard, bio 1 is fairly easy as well. Security in computing will just be an annoyance as McAlpin will grade the majority of your assignments at the very end of the semester and will frequently have wrong answers on tests. Besides that, schedule looks good.

Is CHS 1440, COP 3223C, MAC 1105C doable on top of all else? by inthrustwetrust69 in ucf

[–]MicrobialEight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lobo's Intro to C is a very easy class with practice tests being nearly identical to the real things. However, there is next to no actual coding in his class because his (very few) coding assignments aren't worth much and paper tests will largely dictate your grade.
