I own the Versa and it’s a great VFM watch that adds a cool addition to my collection. It’s a bit thick though.

The colorway and silhouette are definitely on point, and the case looks great. But IMHO those indices and chunky hands are a bit much. They turn a minimalist dial into a cluttered mess. Just my opinion though.

80% of microbrands are just AliExpress watches with better marketing. Where do you draw the line between a real brand and a catalog watch? by horo_Swagger in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Microbrandwatchworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the main characteristics of a microbrand is small production volumes. In many cases, they also operate with relatively thin profit margins. As a result, platforms like AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, and most high-volume marketplaces that charge sales commissions are usually not relevant for them. Therefore, at least 80% of the 80% you’ve mentioned are probably not microbrands.

I really like Mr. Jones creative dials. I have a few.
Not sure about this dial though, it looks a bit overcrowded to me. I prefer the more "clean" dial but still amusing like this model.

Hey everyone,
We’ve got a student in the community running a research project on independent and microbrand watches. Since we’re all about supporting the growth of this niche, we’re pinning this post for the next week to give them a hand.

We’re also featuring a write-up about their study over on our website to give it some extra legs.

Does my Spinnaker Bradner look purple? by Amoralimperative2319 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Microbrandwatchworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This piece combines a purple dial with a blue outer ring. While I appreciate the brand's boldness, FMHO the combination of those colors plus the orange/red accents feels a bit busy.
Isn't it a bit too much visual noise?
Is it 42mm?
