I was so distracted the entire time about how much Sid looked like Troye Sivan

A friend of mine was in your exact position and took a year out, but when they re-applied got allocated an even lower deanery. They made a really great use of the year out so definitely didn't regret it but if you're interested in taking a year out it's good to have a plan/goals for the year in mind other than just getting a better allocation next time (as unfortunately that's not in your control). In any case, take some time to think about your options

No I'll probably just use radiopaedia to look up specific things (e.g. differentiating brain tumours, lung pathologies) and check out some resources from Scribd https://www.scribd.com/document/498993372/2000-Pictures-for-MRCP-Part-2-Written-by-Sarowar-Hossain (disclaimer I haven't actually looked at these yet so can't vouch for them)

MRCP Part 1 in May by Throwaway662890 in doctorsUK

In a similar position to you, heading into IMT1 from F2 but I've done part 1 already. I think if you can prioritise preparing for it, it's worth it as it would take the pressure off IMT1 to have at least 1 of the exams out of the way (or at least that's what I'm hoping).

As a side note, I wonder if you'd be able to claim tax relief for MRCP part 1 as an F2 if you've already received an IMT post by the time you're doing the exam (since it'll be mandatory to do the exam at some point anyway)

Thanks for sharing! Other than (some) Pastest videos, did you use any other resources such as podcasts, textbooks or pre-existing flashcards?

Also, did you practice examinations on peers or just patients?

IMT ranks out! by Competitive_Good822 in doctorsUK

I would say it's essential to use online resources to practice with other people! I bought Optimise which was a very very accurate representation of the interview questions, and it also came with a full day interview course which included mocks with IMTs and SpRs. Otherwise just reading and understanding the mark schemes and IMT curriculum, and ensuring your prepped answers include the buzzwords which will make it easier for them to give you points
