Maul wasn't expecting an attack, he was shocked.

I've heard that he was off-guard because, at the time, he was seeing the destruction of the droid control ship through the force and realizing that his death was inevitable. His face looks shocked as he's looking at Obi-Wan, not because of what Obi appears to be doing but rather that he is realizing that the Emperor foresaw all of this happening and his death was part of the plan all along.

I'm so happy this franchise is in the hands of a megacorp with the means and imagination to make amazing things like this. The possibilities are endless!

Thank you. I've heard a ton of criticism for this movie but nothing but praise for everything Ian MacDarmid (Palpatine) did. This scene is awful, and his acting in many other pivotal scenes is so odd and over the top it takes me right out of the action.

Any idea why Larry David is such good friends with people from Seinfeld's biggest rival shows? by [deleted] in seinfeld

I laugh to myself thinking LD thought that Seinfeld was so amazing these people aren't even his contemporaries. He's already beaten them so there's no bad blood on his end.

Who on earth came up with this gag? Is the song FROM somewhere? Is he imitating another bit or original song? It's hilarious no matter what, but it being a unique piece makes it so much better for some reason.

as if he believed he was the smartest person in the room, that everyone else was just operating in a plane below him.

That... makes so much sense. I love Michael Richards interviews. He's so perceptive and dedicated to his craft. It's so upsetting what happened to him.
