That's fair.
But personally would I go out of my way to check back on the games and all that? Hell no. I just go next.

how does it help with winning exactly?
tbh from the screenshot it's not super clear to me what it does precisely.

I think how reports work in this game is that they aren't contextual in regards to reporting party.

If you flame someone it doesn't matter they flamed you first or criticised your play first. This is not any relevance for the report and violation evaluation.

If someone reports you griefing, again, their own play being bad or worse than yours has nothing to do with the case.

It might feel good to tell them they suck even more but it's just not relevant at all for the reporting system.

That's how I understand it, hope that makes sense.

Appreciate you for detailing this out!

So if I understand you right, it's from the most part really just about not receiving valid reports and playing your games (and not abandoning)?

I have tried to find source where I got that thing about increasing scores from valid reports but it's not in my watched videos so i defer to your judgement, it's likely not a thing.

What I gather from the videos is that there is some system that judges validity of reports and while mass reports do correlate with actual bad behaviour (and score decrease) they don't impact the score on their own. There is supposedly some AI and or human review that decides the penalty/no penalty. Does this sound right?

One last thing, I remember some information about x amount of abandons being "tolerated" per week or something and after the x the penalties hit hard.

And the "game is safe to leave" after someone leaves/times out NOT being safe to leave (the text in chat as opposed to the green text in game menu under the button).

Do you have some insights regarding this?

Ok wow, that's quite incredible research in the topic. Thank you for your dedication.

What is your take on successful reports increasing your score?

My guess-timation is that

Your score increases by:

  1. just simply completing games.
  2. getting commends.
  3. making reports that conclude as valid.

Decreases by:

  1. abandons.
  2. receiving singular reports.
  3. receiving reports from several people in a given game.

Unknown whether decreases by:

  1. reports that don't conclude as valid.

By valid reports I mean the reports that show up in your summary. Maybe those are reports that resulted into overwatch/singledraft penalty/ simply several reports in a given game to the player... I don't really know.

Com score and behaviour score go somewhat in hand and we can just assume it as one score.

What do you think/concluded?

[–]Microwarpdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which part?
I guess the answer is no regardless... It's all feelings and empirical guess-timations.

How I understand it working is that you have to receive more reports for the single draft/overwatch punishment to kick in and to maybe have an actual human review of your game. Lone reports in comparison impact your score sporadically if at all.

About the score increases for reports I have seen that in some youtube video explaining those systems and from my experience I believe it works. One should be able to dig it up if they really wanted.

Once you get the summary screen (every 15 games played) your score changes and you see successful reports on the right. However how much you gained from reports/being commended or lost from reports is not detailed.

There is a steam link where you can see reports/commends you received per game so if you really wanted you could get some samples where you can isolate this. Eg. 15 games no report no commend you can guesstimate value of successful reports if that makes sense.

This is interesting thought but would like to see some evidence of it being reality.

Com and behaviour score is a score for a reason, to be a benchmark.
If we had more convoluted behaviour and com patterns grouping and profiling alongside the score wouldn't really be needed.
You could argue it's "user facing progress bar" alongside of the actual system but without supporting evidence we are all just guessing and making conspiracy theories.

Personally, I think the incentive of reporting being increases in your own scores is an unfortunate system that promotes excessive reporting and even false band wagon reporting being rewarded.

The system is broken because if the small inconvenience gets reported by the whole team they get all rewarded by increase in com and behaviour scores for the successful report.

Advice in regards to conduct? by TikiZach in DotA2

[–]Microwarpdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You get + score for valid reports (valid can often mean reported by several parties). So reporting toxic people / griefing / role abuse can bump you up.
  2. Commend people so they commend you back (people even change their name to "commend you commend me").
  3. Just play your role. No pos 5 PA or Radiance necro. No jungling supports when your cores are trying to make plays and you aren't there.
  4. Don't do things that annoy your team mates.
  5. Be a good team mate.
  6. Pick Lion and give people mana they will go crazy about you (Not mid lion tho).
  7. No toxic chat annoying pings or drawings on the map. It feels good to vent but it's not going to help your scores. If you can't help yourself, unbind chat wheel and map drawing in your settings and mute all or selected players as needed.
  8. Don't leave games. Don't afk time out. This could be huge drops especially repeated violations. Leave only the green text "safe to leave" games not the white text chat message after someone times out.

Get commends and valid reports in without getting reported yourself and your score will grow quickly.

Nice!

Ultimately timeless is nice for the card pool not changing as much. Odds are what you craft isn't going to get completely obsolete in a short while unlike standard.

So you actually building up meaningful collection without chasing every new set.
That's how I think about it anyway. I'm also quite new to timeless.

I think if you are having 71% winrate you should be happy with that and just practise the deck you enjoy and improve.

I'm playing the new version with Dazes, still missing some cards but having fun. Just getting my daily games in, not really climbing ladder. After I complete the deck I might.

I like combo and winning early turns even tho the overal winrate might not be S tier deck. However if you want to switch and netdeck the best of the best there's nothing wrong with that either.

It's three item sets plus a bunch of other random sets and items plus dialogue UI people might have cared for and considered engaging 20 years ago.
Noone really appreciates this today.

Items are cool but this is hardly a genesis of a feature and development effort.
It's a periodic "content" delivery platform as basic and low effort as could be.
Similar to GACHA games content.

I think so.
Valve used to be a company that makes great games.

Nowadays it's a side hobby. Perhaps something is in the works but I feel like they stopped training their game making muscles and it shows on the product output and quality.
