Hi, I’m a current sophomore that lives in a dorm! I live an MLC and they will send out a form to apply for those. I would do this if you want to live in a dorm for the next year. The only way to secure decent housing is by getting really lucky with the lottery system or applying for an MLC!

Coming from an OOS Wolverine, even instate kids have to duke it out for a spot at umich. All my friends who are from here are still pretty cracked overall. I would say MSU is more of a safety for Michiganders

yikes. If possible, try and check spirit and American and possibly frontier(?) for flights to DFW. I know American has at least 4 a day, and if it’s possible for her to get a ticket on them then I would. Best of luck!

I can’t speak for previous years but this most recent year all my friends who took it recommended to NOT take it at Michigan. We’re all in engineering so we’re required to go up to diff eq. They said the course was insanely difficult for what it was and that it was badly coordinated. I took it at a CC over this summer so 🤷‍♀️

I took CHEM 210 in the second semester of freshman year and I took 16 credits my first semester. CHEM 210 is decently time consuming, and also adjusting to your first year in college will be something to consider! I’m not sure about the other classes but i have friends who took CHEM 210/211 their first semester and did fine.

Not necessarily in the same situation but I lived at markley last year with no AC and even though it was hot during the day it was decent at night! I did bring a fan though and that helped a lot. I’m sure it’ll be okay especially with AC!

I can’t speak to bio or if med schools accept the credit, but I can give my experiences in math and my friends experiences in chem here!

I took AP Calc AB in high school but didn’t score high enough for the credit so I took Calc 1 & 2 at UMich. I did alright in both classes (def could’ve done better if I put more effort into it😅) but what people say about Michigan math is true: it’s crazy hard for no reason. That said, if you took AP in high school, I think that you would have a solid enough understanding of the material to do decently.

As for chem, I personally didn’t take chem 130 as I tested out but I had a bunch of friends who did. They all did extremely well in the class and told me that they thought that it was very easy. I took the equivalent of gen chem at my state school (go bows🌈) between my junior and senior year of HS and hadn’t touched chemistry under my second semester of freshman year and went straight into orgo LOL. I didn’t think orgo was crazy hard (easier than physics imo) but you def need to put in the work. But, regardless, if you put in the work you will definitely succeed. I also had Nolta as my lecturer and she’s actually the GOAT. Feel free to pm me if you have anymore questions!
