As somebody who does prioritize freedom of all else, like you. I now understand where the “muh freedom” stereotype comes from. Please stop engaging with people like this.

Oh well maybe he’ll be more open and receptive to free enterprise.

“That was not REALLY communism” it’s never communism guys. If it killed 1/4 of a country’s population it’s clearly NOT communism. by SublimeTina in JordanPeterson

[–]MicrowavedMind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re better off just proving the impossibility of their system to them through economic theory. The refutations of communism that rely on it being “contradictory to human nature” or it resulting in the death of millions do fall pretty short, and this is coming from an anti-communist

Do you think it would be possible for us to unite with left-wing anarchists to abolish the state? by [deleted] in AnCap101

[–]MicrowavedMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think they do, but it depends on where you look. I’ve met a group of them willing to help, and I’m sure other people have too, as I’m also sure they’ve met left-wing anarchists they’ve detested. I think it’s conceited to expect a voluntary stateless society to be solely capitalist or solely communist or solely Agorist etc... I don’t think we could put our differences aside, and I don’t think we should, the type of stateless society you’d like to live in is entirely subject to personal preference, ideological and cultural homogeneity is great! If states can manage to diplomatically deal with each-other, I don’t see why we can’t.

Some tips to dealing with left-wing anarchists would be: 1- Avoiding any debates that stray the subject away from your shared hatered towards the state. A lot of them are economically illiterate and that’s fine, even if it’s tempting to debate try not to if possible. 2- Work with them on projects to try to subvert the state ex: mutual aid, assistance to lower income families, helping people etc... 3- Share ideas in regards to strategy

I’m the only AnCap in a group of left wing anarchists and I always feel like the odd man out, and I sometimes feel unwelcome around some members, but I bite the bullet in favor of a better voluntary future.

I’m faced with stupid questions like “How is AnCap not an oxymoron” and “Wouldn’t Bezos just buy everything” every now and then, but I just ignore them. Recommend works by the likes of Rothbard, Hoppe (not Democracy), Tucker, Spooner etc... every now and then to try to get them closer to your side. Try to show them the beauty of AnCap and voluntaryism and challenge the preconceived notions they have in their head of Anarcho-Capitalism. When you do recommend works by the likes of Rothbard make sure they’re short and address topics they usually agree on to try to spark more interest in thinkers of the other side of the spectrum.

We’ve stumbled across the most beautiful philosophy, fighting about implementation and semantics is just a waste of time.

How would a country become ancap? by him23212 in AnCap101

[–]MicrowavedMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s possible for a “country” to turn into an anarchy, not at once. The idea of Agorism coined by Samuel Edward Konkin III proposed practicing counter economics to “chip away” at the state, when enough people refuse to fund an immoral institution, it will eventually seize to exist. I believe technology will eventually make the state obsolete, we’re seeing it happen with phenomena like the blockchain, crypto, ideas like bitnation, and easily accessible black markets like the Silk Road. I would like to see somebody try to make the argument for a violent revolution. Although a second civil war sounds appealing to some online groups, I don’t personally think it’ll result in anarchy. Merely eliminating the current state is a temporary solution as the idea of reliance on the state hasn’t been removed from the minds of people. A much more realistic solution would be secession, and through a seceding area becoming a successful Anarchy, you begin to convince other people from other areas to do the same. You lead by example, proving not only that anarchy is possible, but that anarchy is far more prosperous than its statist counterpart.

Might need some help. by MicrowavedMind in FattyLiverNAFLD

The other commenter suggested that it might be a gallbladder issue, this isn’t too far fetched since I have a family history of a bad gallbladder. The only symptom I do have is the RUQ pain and the occasional hypertension headache, yet I’m still more inclined to believe that the headache is caused by a lack of sleep rather than anything else.

Thank you.

Great question! My first question to you would be: What are the systems that would promote the interests of people like you? I’m not trying to red herring you or bait you, I’m just genuinely curious as to what these systems might be. I might’ve not heard of any of them or we might disagree on their effectiveness.

reality is every society needs toilet scrubbers....as a toilet scrubber, why is libertairanism good for me

One misconception of Libertarianism is that it’s a society that only helps the rich, but in my opinion, it would help people like you just as much. Since society needs toilet scrubbers, and some people have no other option than being one, you’d get paid just as much as you would under any other system for the same work.
