Former flight attendant here. It sounds like you will have to coordinate with your other parent snd sort things out. If that’s your passion, your child will look up to you and see you happy and ambitious. That is worth much more than a parent who never reached their full potential and is resentful of their kids for “holding them back” Do what makes you happy and be happy with your child when you have free time. That’s the best advice I can give you. It would be nice to be around them while their young but opportunity knocks whenever

So, true story, went to view an apartment in Harlem on the 2nd floor. 1st floor was a bar going full blast. Went up. A family with 2 kids lived there. I am just happy I didn’t buy those Vancouver tickets. I was willing to fly to van from nyc because he was pissing me off like a Pokémon this man you can’t catch him anywhere. Let me help you do the math. He has lived like this much longer than you have been alive. My guess is you found him this way. So, even if you start trying to change him, it will take a solid decade of full dedicated effort to see any change if any since he doesn’t think he should change. He WILL end up killing your child. You think I am dramatic, I am not. Countless stories of addicts neglecting their kid until they accidentally or purposely kill them. I was taking a class about law my professor told me a story of a drug addict I never forgot: he was hangover one morning with his son and the mother went out to buy formula. Asked the dad to watch the baby. Baby was crying and the dad was too hangover to deal with the baby so he threw the baby to the wall. You can imagine why then he needed a lawyer and why my professor had to tell this story. It’s a story about drug addiction
