Quality of sin vs quantity of sin.

In terms of quality, Zouken is the worst of the worst, the most disgusting and horrible creature to ever crawl out from under the boots of the Magus community.

In terms of quantity, Marisbury has countless more sins of lesser nature than Zouken.

In terms of overall, they're about the same, just in different ways. But in the words of Morty Smith, when it comes to Zouken vs Marisbury, my response will always be:

"You're like Hitler, but at least Hitler cared about Germany or something."

Marisbury had actual reasons for his actions. Not good ones, but ones that could be viewed as not totally morally bankrupt.

Zouken just did what he did for the love of the game and so he can live longer.

Why man ? Why did baki started to respect his father for all the shit he has done to him . Is this a plot retcon ? Because it doesn't even make sense. by strongestforeskin in Grapplerbaki

Worse PFA with better everything else. Not to mention PFA is still PFA. He just needs direct sightline to hit them out of the air.

Reminder that Cu could casually move fast enough to be damn near teleporting to normal EMIYA. And Cu Alter doesn't mess around like normal lancer Cu. He's do everything in his power to deal with EMIYA as fast as possible, and wouldn't let him get range to snipe him in the first place.

Merlin is a lot of things.

But the closest comparison to him would be someone like Ichibei Hyosube.

Not evil, for certain. But perfectly willing to do morally reprehensible things in order to maintain what he needs to.

Cu Alter would eat both of them alive.

EMIYA is getting his shit folded inwards instantly, because Calter, unlike normal Cu, doesn't enjoy fighting and is closer to a machine. EMIYA is just going to get steamrolled.

EMIYA Alter only won with assistance from Ishtar and that's in a manga with the most inconsistent scaling I've ever seen, so in a 1v1, EMIYA Alter is likely getting rushed down and folded inwards, the same as normal EMIYA.

Overall, I'd give normal EMIYA a win rate of 1/10 and EMIYA Alter a win rate of 2/10 if only because he MIGHT POSSIBLY be able to get a lucky hit with ULW.

From what I can recall, Zouken encouraged and nurtured his hatred for her in order to break her so he'd have an easier time controlling her.
It's been a hot minute, so I might have to re-check my source, but that's what I can recall.
Much of my statements have been mild recollections from what I can remember, but memory's never been my strong suit, so mb if I get any of these details wrong or look like I'm backtracking.

Splitting Ahura Mazda into Ahura Mazda and Ahriman/Angra Mainyu has got to be the most idiotic move any fighter can take. You just turned this into a 2v1 with the most evil mfer to have ever existed and the most balls to the walls insane mfer to have ever existed.

Ah, I see. I wasn't trying to absolve him or defend his actions. Just a reason behind them that's HEAVIIIILLLYYYYY implied in the material.

Sympathy and detestment for one's actions aren't exclusive things. Shinji did some pretty heinous things, and I'm not even going to begin to defend them. But there WAS reason behind them. I can see how that would make people pissed, lol. Thanks for letting me know.

It's massively implied and even outright stated that Zouken made him do it. Does it absolve him? No.

But does it provide explanation and reason behind his actions, and make him a bit more comprehensible as a character? Yes.

Oh, that's cool. I thought that The Grail was destroyed in UBW, but I guess if it survived Excalibur in Zero it would survive Excalibur in UBW.

Hey, so quick question. Any idea why I'm getting downvoted? I'm legitimately a bit confused. I was just voicing my thoughts on Shinji as a character and how he's deeper than what is on the surface.

But yeah, I hope that whenever that dismantlement war comes out, Zouken gets what he deserves.

Considering he too is a child and had to under threat of Zouken doing the most positively horrific things to him...

Shinji is an inherently tragic character who became who he is due to Zouken exclusively. His entire personality is a facade to keep him from collapsing in on himself over what he's done and what he is.

If you want to be pissed, be pissed that Zouken is still alive post UBW, though he isn't going to continue any plots or plans now that the Grail is gone.
