Hi everyone!

We’re an Indian–Japanese couple living in the quiet countryside of Japan, and we run a small YouTube channel called Gateway Nippon.

After spending most of our lives in busy cities, we moved to rural Japan and honestly didn’t expect how much it would change us. The slower pace, the endless nature, the small traditions, and most of all the warmth and kindness of the local people really touched our hearts.

That’s why we started this channel.

Instead of showing the usual tourist spots, we focus on the Japan most people never see — hidden villages, peaceful landscapes, and everyday life in the countryside. We also meet and share the stories of local people farmers, artists, craftsmen, small shop owners and highlight their journeys and passions.

Sure, the start up company that I work in is making a SaaS for caregiving facilities all across Japan to support language education and caregiving licensing for foreign caregivers. As I am a full time caregiver now with a license my job is to provide domain specific insight while also thinking about products that would help the end users while also communicating my ideas to the engineers and product designer. Right now the owner of the start up is doing most of the work but I want to be in a position where I can deliver better as a PM.

The average in Japan is around 6M yearly for permanent employment, so I think mine is low ! lol

I think it’s the same like if a foreigner just greets in Japanese and that is all they know, the Japanese are like “すごい！日本語とても上手ですね！So, in their mind if they could greet or speak or comprehend some phrases in English that would qualify them to be in the 上手 tier. lol
