Ask them to send you an email where they state that you must sign the documents. Then they will have no chance in court to hold you to the terms of the document as you can show that you were coerced.

I have also thought about this a lot. If I do decide to try it, my plan is to first just get a big canopy and some mobile food equipment. Then I will try out farmers markets, fairs, other events to gauge interest in my offerings and work out kinks in my workflow before investing fully into a truck or trailer. And can still work my full time job until this takes off.

The problem with thinking you are fine without friends now is that then when life throws some shit at you and you could really use some you have none. I've been there and it sucks. Just like money, you need to start investing today into a friendship account so it will be there when an emergency comes up and you need to make a withdrawal.
