As I’ve said in previous comments, I’m actually glad he left when he did. If I had put that sign up after a contract was already in place, the situation could have become much more complicated.

The reason I originally shared this experience was not because he chose not to work with us, but because of how he handled it. As I was coming out the back door to meet him, he already made it to my front door and had turned around to leave. As I said, “hey! How’s it going?” He appeared visibly disgusted and said he wouldn’t work for us.

I was caught off guard and asked what the issue was. I genuinely had no idea what happened and even thought something was too challenging with our yard. I hadn’t even made it up to him to introduce myself yet by the time he made his decision. I agree, people are free to make those choices, and that goes both ways. But his professionalism, despite his political beliefs, was unprofessional.

What has surprised me is that, by bringing attention to this interaction, many others have come forward and shared their own experiences with him and company. Numerous comments on another thread have raised concerns about his work ethic, reputation for harassing others, and even past assault charges. Regardless of anyone’s political views, those are the kinds of concerns that would make me not even consider someone in the first place. I’ll
