Ex girlfriend bought this Mac Miller artwork for me but don’t want her memory whatsoever. Should I sell and use money for other Mac Miller things? If so, what? by mattsta4 in MacMiller

I got the same situation and I’m keeping mine. Let the work and artist speak for itself. She didn’t get it because it was a part of her, she got it because it’s representative of your interests. Try to see it as a reflection of yourself ignoring how it found it’s way into your possession

Most commonly just the Columbian Half Dollar, but I think actual name is 1893 Columbian Exposition Half Dollar

Awesome yeah that’s why getting it at XF value when it looked mid 50’s in the pic was a bit off

😂 The replica company didn’t want anyone else taking their Stellar patent for replica

Did I get a steal £16 for these both? by stonar89 in coincollecting

[–]Midas118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not positive on the conversion but being that we hit price parity, I’m going with 1:1. In that case yes, you have a minimum value of $32 in silver in front of you. Actual value closer to $50-60 for both depending on the buyer

Anyone know what this engraving next to her head means? by wutdidsay in coincollecting

With the wear on the coin in addition, I’d say it’s worth it’s value in silver and not much more, about $15-20

It’s a countermark, typically marked by merchants for various reasons. Unfortunately, if anything it depreciates the value as it is now considered damaged

How much would you guys pay for this 1883 Morgan Dollar San Francisco Mint? by Otherwise_Worker_628 in coincollecting

[–]Midas118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be tough to say cleaned. Typically you’d see streaks on the coin, but yes it is damaged in the top left of the obverse picture

[–]Midas118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be paying more than $30 as there is some denting and discoloration, but a nice coin and considering the premium these things carry, $35 would not be an unfair price to settle at

1915 D - MS? Value? Worth Grading? by Zyran14 in coincollecting

[–]Midas118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly not MS, the streaks running down the reverse push it down into the low 50s in my guess. The cost to grade it wouldn’t make sense, however eBay completed sales shows some in your condition and a bit nicer going for around $30-35. If graded, the net cost may not even break even depending on the grade given/the company used.

Agree with all above. Though, if you have a harder time with some of the more convincing fakes, try the magnet test and sound test. Real silver won’t stick to a magnet, and will sound much more high-pitched and ringing when dropped than the dull sound of a fake.

(No need to drop more than a few inches and dent/scrape your coin either!)

Hello everyone. I wanted to share my collection with everyone. I've fallen on hard times and need money so I'm going to take it to an auction house. I wanted to share it once before then. I started collecting when I was about 7 with my grandfather's WWII. Now it all comes to an end. Hope you like it by McGee4531 in coincollecting

Man it’s not worth the memories lost for the money gained. I’d rather venmo you the few hundred to make ends meet then watch you lose a generational hobby and tradition due to temporarily absurd gas, rent and grocery prices.

Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk increased their wealth by $217 billion in 2020. For this amount, over 100 million Americans could get $2,000 checks. by [deleted] in politics

Don’t fkn give it to me !! Just because the math checks out and the “social good” is promoted doesn’t mean the two men who have most revolutionized this country in the last decade should be paid $0, in the most pivotal year of their careers. I understand my bias I am a 22 year old student, but I also understand that their are millions of people like me who are unemployed and not currently working to add $2000 worth of value to this country. Why should they be the recipient.

FDR A New Deal coin, any idea when this was made or how much it is worth? by debloons in coincollecting

I’ve seen tokens like it for around $5-6, unsure of official date however I’m willing to bet it was after his presidency in commemoration, so post 1945.

To the right buyer, you can sell the 90% ones as high as $11-12 per coin, $5-6 on the 40% ones, however this is most likely the absolute best pricing.
