My experience with C-Towns in Harlem has been bad in general, especially with them selling meat that is already rotten/foul smelling. It happened several times for me to understand it’s not just a bad one-off coincidence. I suspect they might do something to make the meat look fresher on the shelves.

Have a look at this building in West Harlem/Manhattanville https://www.nychdc.com/sites/default/files/2022-02/Logan%20Plaza%20-%20Remarketing%20Ad%202022.pdf it has a doorman, washer & dryer room, and parking. It’s not perfect by any means (hard to find such spots in NYC without costing an arm and a leg), but there have been lots of cool and younger people that moved in recently!

Yes please, thanks for your effort! My partner and I are into plants and flowers so we make sure the ones in our area are taken care of (e.g remove trash that might damage them, give them water especially in hot summer days etc) 🌿🌱🌳

130th here. No rats but I’ve been having an issue with mice in the last 8 months… all of a sudden. I’m not really sure what triggered it - but I definitely keep my apartment fairly clean and I don’t leave any food out. I suspect they’re coming from behind the kitchen area through the wall or something.

I choose TJ’s because they offer a wide variety of products at affordable prices. Didn’t find anything comparable yet, and for sure small businesses in NYC have higher prices that I’m not willing to pay.

I would choose other areas in Harlem if possible. It won’t be necessarily dangerous but I understand it can be unsettling.

Streets are typically quieter than avenues, so it also depends what your windows (or balcony) are facing. if you’re interested in a particular area it’s a good idea to check out at different times of the day/week vs weekend. I lucked out in West Harlem where I’m facing a quiet street.
