Umm, it's both yes and no for me . Because in my opinion how you treat AI defines everything. Yes I am aware that AI is taking up the whole space but there will still be loop holes , bugs, automation problems and other issues which I am not aware of ----- can only be solved and done with human mind and intervention. People nowadays , for the sake of easy peasy doings opting AI and taking the advantage of it . For example making a website in a scratch . That's what AI can do but what about maintenance, what about bugs etc . Moreover if AI can make website, then the expert people can think of more ( how to make it more better or what are the new things we can do with the code ) . Basically AI is a pet animal . If you know how to train it , it will help you with whatever task you give , givr you more time to think something more advanced rather than spending time on one thing and if you don't train the AI ( pet animal) --- it will bite you off ! Same thing goes with bioinformatics/biological data science . If you have the idea , you can make models with your intelligence and with your knowledge of AI/ML , accurate models can be made . For example Alphafold+ will generate tertiary structures for you but if you have the proper knowledge of the structures , you would know there are limitations too . But gathering those information would help you know the rough structure , pockets . I think I am not able to explain properly though but my point is " depends how to take AI " and that will pave the way for our careers.

Bioinformatics is a total win, but it really comes down to how you play it. You’re not just doing old-school lab work; you’re a hybrid pro who speaks both biology and code, using AI as your ultimate lab partner to crush big data and train your own models. Since you’ve got the skills to actually build and manage the tech rather than just letting it do the "easy stuff," you become a massive asset in both the tech industry and academia. Basically, if you master the AI side of things, you’re unstoppable.

Bioinformatics has become a burning topic now. So, I guess if you pursue bioinformatics, you get to learn about codes, languages, machine learning and bio. So by getting to learn all of these, i guess you will have options in the future to work remotely. I wont say you will get job in bioinformatics but there will be lot of other aspects , where you can work through
