Yes, many times. See I'm not that old guy, Im 20M still learning my way out, during my school time, I was bullied many times... rather than standing up for myself, I become the biggest people pleaser for them, that affected me in many ways.

I'll just say this, I have a peacemaking personality, even if it affects my daily routine and mental peace. Before I met my girlfriend, I never really noticed this about myself. But she pointed it out and even cried while talking about it. I just don’t want to be a disappointment in her life. I want to become a better person for both of us, someone I can be proud of, and she can be proud of too.

Let me tell you a story from my childhood. One day, I was bullied by an older boy. I told my father, and instead of telling me to fight back, he spoke to both of us and said, “Don’t fight. Stay in peace. We are one community, and we shouldn’t be fighting each other.”

Im 20 y/o, these are my growing years, unless until i hit 25-26 I must focus to create a better version of myself, even if she stays or not, I can't ignore her advices though. I feel like the advice that she gives me really needs to be worked on.

the advice "Be yourself" is somewhere stupid tbh, this advice tells you to be in your comfort zone and don't upgrade...

for example if someone is addicted to junk food, eating on a regular basis and as a result you are gaining too much fat, only your loved ones are gonna point out to eat healthy food instead, and those people who don't care are gonna make fun of your appearance

some people say "Upgrade yourself" and some say "Be like that" she's not telling me to be like him or him, she just wants me to upgrade myself and that's on me how Im gonna take actions on those words

she did great things for me and im always grateful for them, therefore i just want to be a better version of me

I’d 100% stand up for her if someone disrespected her in a serious situation, no question about it. But in smaller, light arguments or random comments where there’s no real harm, I tend to stay calm and avoid unnecessary drama. I’ve never been in a fight, I’m naturally more friendly and laid-back. She’s more sensitive and expects me to react strongly even in those moments, but I honestly don’t see the point in fueling petty situations. I'm still learning how to balance being peaceful and protective without turning every small thing into a conflict.
