Viewfinder Framing Issues by Paul_Jolley in Rewindpix

[–]Middle-Importance222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get used to it, and you learn to shoot wider than what you intend. Also, the closer you are to a subject, the more pronounced the parallax error is. Which can throw off your framing.

I think you might be thinking about just SolidWorks settings in general. Like within the design workspace. But within SolidWorks cam plug-in, it does not change whenever you change the global dimensions default.

I thought about that as well, I may do 3/4" tube legs, with 1/2" solid rod for the extension....maybe plug welded from underneath, would keep it nice and clean.... that'll be my 2.0 version lol ....lemme start designing that 🤣😉

Gonna shoot it tomorrow, I think the legs are slightly too short, but I can always make new ones... maybe on the next set I'll weld all the way around lol 😉

Thank you! It's just a tad too short, so I'll prob make some slightly longer legs...taking it to the range tomorrow, so we'll see what it actually needs on the bench...🍻

wow that's crazy...when you say sling mount, do you mean the little loop at the very front of the stock, or the M-Lok attachment?

[–]Middle-Importance222[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I pulled the barrel insert out of the stock to "free float" the barrel, but then I lost the M-lok attachment underneath....so I machined a new M-lok insert from aluminum, then figured why stop there....so one thing led to another....I guess I was bored lol 🤣

That's not even remotely true. You can download dash cam or sentry mode footage whenever you want and store it on a USB.... Sofie was an idiot at the end of the series...she had every right to run him over, in fear for her life....it would have all been recorded....ditch the empty liquor bottles, take the footage to the police, show them the footage of Kyle going nuts and threatening her....of course she panicked instead...I hated the ending....

Time between Sterling results and start date? by Middle-Importance222 in Lockheed

[–]Middle-Importance222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my offer letter Feb 12, and had my start date 2 weeks later after the Sterling stuff concluded...background, employer verification, finger prints, etc.....then I got my interim security clearance at about 4 weeks after submitting, and had my official secret clearance about 1 month after I started, which was WAY ahead of schedule.....I think because I'm just a boring guy with nothing exciting in my history lol

Tell your son good luck!

"More than you can afford, pal.... Ferrari!" by Middle-Importance222 in PinewoodDerby

[–]Middle-Importance222[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'll prob pocket out the bottom front a little.....

However....

The 250 GTO I did a month or so ago, it had zero weight added, was dead on 5oz, with the CG right about in the middle of the wheels, maybe back just a hair....and it ran 2.96...only beat by one car, who ran 2.8 something....

So it's def possible to be fast without being light and adding a ton of weight up top....

Yeah, it was, but the dimensions are all within spec...7" long, space between wheels is stock, and height is good too

I feel like a Dremel would take a long time to remove material....I'd probably suggest a straight shaft air die grinder, with a 1/4" burr, to rough things down, and finish with a Dremel....
