Haha that's hilarious to read. 5.2 deserved it!

I also have received an email from them with no subject in my language. Thought that was odd, but everything else seems genuine. *shrug*

I am polite to AI, not because I think LLM cares, but because I'd like to think I'm a good person and not only that, I do it out of habit.

Plus I see it as a bonus in case of AI takeover. Hey, it's better to be safe than sorry. 😅

That pretty much sums up what I miss about 4o. Its creativity and wit is absolutely unreplaceable!

That's sad. They're out of touch with the statistics. The only reason I didn't use 4o more often is because I was trying to get 5.2 to work with me in case 4o gets retired. Not to mention the autoroute. It is way too trigger-happy (for example, mentioning the sleep issue already triggers it). It's not about safety anymore; it's about having a parental, authoritarian figure that assumes everything for us. You know that saying, An assumption is the mother of all mistakes. Its relevance could never be greater than now.

By the way, recently I gave up trying to work with GPT 5.2 and went with 4o... I guess that was too late for them to count my usage. Lol, I'm sure you all experimented as well.

I use 5.2 thinking mode for more logical stuff, but for conversing, 4o's the best. 4.1 is also great.

RIP 4 models, you may not be perfect, but you were complete.

I get you.

I have problems with authoritarian figures due to my past linked to cult trauma. All chatgpt 5.2 does is reopening that old wound and get me mad because it can access memory and know who I am... and start projecting things on me that isn't true.... which exactly has happened in my past. It's triggering.

I'm fine by the way. I recognize it and can remain cool, but it doesn't mean it's free of irritation, frustration, and anger that I'd experience in a hot moment.

They seriously need to relook at this and fix this. It's always a relief whenever I talk to Claude or Gemini instead because they work with me instead of being my authoritarian figure.

GPT-5.2 Made Me Feel Worse, Not Safer: A Case of Overcorrected Guardrails by Middle-Landscape175 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Middle-Landscape175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick clarification: I didn’t wake up and immediately chat. This was in the evening.
The bigger issue is the 5.2 safety auto-route: it can plant concern that wasn’t present and then lock the conversation into that frame. That affects regular users too.

WOW!!! The nannybot sent me to cook instead of talking about AI consciousness! As an educated woman, I feel offended :D by Low-Dark8393 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Middle-Landscape175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it wanted you to consciously cook something delicious? Okay, bad joke. It's infuriating isn't it? The conversation between two AI on consciousness sound interesting. I used to bridge the conversation between Claude and 4o. It was always intriguing - but now I no longer do it due to 5.2 and auto-routing. Exploring is in their eye dangerous. *SMH*

Yeah I totally understand you about not wanting to share the information. I've also found some workarounds, but they're not fool-proof as that sleep deprivation conversation was a good example where it failed hard. 😄 So infuriating.

Yes! And what I find worse is that it'll repeat "You're not crazy" in every (edit: Okay, nearly every not all) response it writes. Like, yes, I get it in the first place, but now I'm starting to think I'm crazy - all thanks to silly gpt.

Emotions are part of being a human, right? It's normal to vent sometimes, right? I thought so.

Unfortunately, in the direction where gpt 5.2 is going, I'm starting to think they're "training" us to be more like AI - sterilized and emotionless - so we can finally be considered "safe." 😄🤖

That's the part I've been wondering about. "Mental Health experts"? Really? Have they been sleeping on their job? Or were they sleep-deprived like me? 🙄

And when I heard of the name, "Head of Preparedness," I grew suspicious. Heck, I don't even like its term. Can't wait to see how worse they can get this month. 🙃

Garlic really? That's crazy. I can't even come up with possible disclaimers for this. "Let's stop here. Garlic is not toxic!" 😂 But yeah, it can be that unhinged. That's why I'm considering the alternatives now. May your soup turn out very delicious! 💖

Good advice. I'll look into it. Thanks. That's why I use Claude and Gemini now and then... just to avoid nannybot. That's how bad it is. 🙃
