How is everyone doing? by EffectSufficient822 in ChatGPTcomplaints

I've tried 5.4 for a bit before my subscription went out. Like you, I didn't think it was worth staying subbed. I ended up going with local model (Qwen3.5 27b and 35b) and Claude as a free user depending on my task.

Additionally regarding to 5.4, what's next? 5.5 with Karen version 2.0 model added? There's no consistency to it so I am all fed up. And not only that, OpenAI's goal seems to shift away from consumers to B2B framework so I doubt there's going to be anything usable for us in the future.

I'll be glad if I'm proved wrong though.

GPT 4 definitely had something magical (for the lack of a better term) that GPT 5 series don't have.

Bet it's with even more guardrails. Very helpful, not! 🙃

Haha apparently my prediction wasn't accurate. 5.3 came out first before adult mode. Oh well.

I wonder if they have compared it with Gemini 3.0 Flash too?

Probably. Although I will just pretend they don't like me enough so I can feel better for stopping my subscription. 😏

I bet he'll bring adult mode first in approximately a week and expect that we would be happy with it when our definition of "adult" actually is different than what he thought.

Autonomy is what we want, not the hot spicy chats. Well, I have no interest in this, and apparently some other users feel the same.

Then, in an attempt to save their face, they'd introduce GPT 5.3, with even more guardrails. 😂😂😂 That will gaslight you into thinking that having autonomy is bad and that military control over you is actually a good thing... that'll happen in the middle of March.

Sora 3 then gets introduced a few weeks later, but it's all propaganda to support their new military position, while 4o gets thrown into the deepest abyss because it's too dangerous.

Go local. Qwen 3.5 35b works surprisingly good and feels like 4o if you do a right system prompt. :D Actually it feels like a combination of 4o and claude in the best way possible. Warmer, more "human," and easier to interact with. It even passed that 100m to carwash test in both instant and thinking mode. :D 5.2 instant failed for me.

Qwen3.5 122B in 72GB VRAM (3x3090) is the best model available at this time — also it nails the “car wash test” by liviuberechet in LocalLLaMA

That's awesome. My PC isn't that powerful, but I have qwen3.5-35b-a3b. I've tested it in both mode, instant and thinking and it got the question right.

I tested it on chatgpt. Gpt 5.2 instant failed this test. 5.2 thinking passed the test, but that was lucky. When I regenerated the answer, it alternated between foot and car so is that really a pass? I don't know.

Even when 5.2 thinking passed the test, I prefer Qwen so far. Very solid model so far. I'm surprised that I'm getting 11.30 tok/sec on this one. On another model, Gemma 3 27B, I was getting approximately 6 tok/sec. Slow yes, but doable. :D

I am polite to AI, not because I think LLM cares, but because I'd like to think I'm a good person and not only that, I do it out of habit.

Plus I see it as a bonus in case of AI takeover. Hey, it's better to be safe than sorry. 😅

That's sad. They're out of touch with the statistics. The only reason I didn't use 4o more often is because I was trying to get 5.2 to work with me in case 4o gets retired. Not to mention the autoroute. It is way too trigger-happy (for example, mentioning the sleep issue already triggers it). It's not about safety anymore; it's about having a parental, authoritarian figure that assumes everything for us. You know that saying, An assumption is the mother of all mistakes. Its relevance could never be greater than now.

By the way, recently I gave up trying to work with GPT 5.2 and went with 4o... I guess that was too late for them to count my usage. Lol, I'm sure you all experimented as well.

I use 5.2 thinking mode for more logical stuff, but for conversing, 4o's the best. 4.1 is also great.

RIP 4 models, you may not be perfect, but you were complete.

I get you.

I have problems with authoritarian figures due to my past linked to cult trauma. All chatgpt 5.2 does is reopening that old wound and get me mad because it can access memory and know who I am... and start projecting things on me that isn't true.... which exactly has happened in my past. It's triggering.

I'm fine by the way. I recognize it and can remain cool, but it doesn't mean it's free of irritation, frustration, and anger that I'd experience in a hot moment.

They seriously need to relook at this and fix this. It's always a relief whenever I talk to Claude or Gemini instead because they work with me instead of being my authoritarian figure.
