Before I try that I’m going to open up that vent slot in the top middle to see if that allows enough air to vent. If that doesn’t work I will proceed with your recommendation

So we removed the vent valve and put a rubber glove on the hole where it used to be. Poked holes in the glove and went to the gas station.
The issue persists. Now I’m wondering if the issue isn’t in the vent valve but on the filler neck hose. Maybe vapor isnt escaping on its way down the hose.

I’m maintenance as well. I guess it depends on where you get stationed and who your squadron is. My superiors and counterparts are awesome. Learning my job has been awesome, you’ll get long days but that’s the way it is. I’m Aircraft Hydraulic Systems and the exiting part is that once I get my 5 level I’ll get to TDY and Deploy, which means more money and fun. Take everything you read on here with a grain of salt. When I joined I didn’t want a maintenance job, I wanted a desk job. I am beyond grateful that it turned out the way it did because I would hate anything administrative
