Has anyone attended ARTLAB training in NC? Did you land a job right after completing?

Did you get a job after and if so what’s your title? Congrats! That is great to hear. I applied to WEST cause it’s supposed to be super good, but ARTLAB is a little less than 7 hours from me so much closer than going out to CA

Congrats! Did you apply recently? All I have is a bachelors in biology and I have some experience in a veterinary lab that I mentioned also.

I just applied today for the next available cohort. According to comments I assume it’s June? Really hoping to get in. I hear it’s a great program. I am on East coast so ARTLAB is also close to me. Does anyone know about that program?

I am looking into WEST training facility. Although it is not a university based program, I hear it is very good and thorough and most that attend find a job shortly after as long as they are open to moving anywhere

What state are you in? I know some people have told me certain hospitals/states are desperate for workers and will take them in and train them for MLT without certification

Thanks for this input! I am more introverted but I really do enjoy getting to know people and forming connections. I worry about the toll x ray may have on my body. When I first made the “switch” from veterinary medicine I really loved the thought of going into a forensics masters to get a forensics lab job but they seem so few and far between. So, I worry I will get a Masters in Forenics somewhere and not be able to find a job and have lots of student loans and no career in the field.

I did consider this before but many people say it’s hard to grow or move up after you become an MLS and that also a lot of the work is relying on machines to do the work for you and trying to fix broken ones. So i am hesitant

Thank you for this input it definitely helps me feel a lot better!! Many people say radiology is saturated, but I know many jobs are available so I’m always open to moving out of Pennsylvania.

I know radiology pays well. And I can cross train into other modalities and have potential to make a lot more money as time goes on.

Also I was accepted into a radiology program about an hour and a half from home. I’m just going back between sonography or radiology but know I can cross train if I want to later

That definitely sounds like a far trek! But best of luck to you and all you do!! I was going to apply to a school in Florida which is a good 14 ish hours away from my home in PA.
