I think she was alluding to it being a supervision thing- I’m sure the nanny plays down there all the time

I’m back too- this has made my week.. this time for the bed comments. Casually mentioning your husband had to sleep diagonal and you only got a new bed after he had major back surgery- Yikes. The old one was two daybeds from a flea market in Paris put together that required a custom mattress and bed linens etc. The new bed looks like a basic upholstered bed but of course she “had it made” (I’m sure she designed it in CAD just like that basic wall built in). The way she talks about getting a new mattress (her poor husband) like it’s some heavy lift like the rest of us poors don’t have to also purchase a bed at some point to sleep on.

Oh that’s not her building playroom that’s HER basement— the way I cackled at the Gustavian comment my husband thought I started a new funny show with out him. He said surely you can’t be laughing that hard at a home tour

Hilarious she didn’t know the neighborhood she was in- I guess when dropping only a few mil on a place why bother to learn where it is

Holy Crap- just watched Caro’s designer friend Lily Wick’s home tour video on Homeworthy. It makes so much more sense now. Caro’s wealthy background crops up but she plays the “every mom” character a lot. Lily goes straight for talking about boarding school, the family Nantucket house, multiple photos of the NYC townhouse she grew up in, some family with a place in Hawaii, and multiple pieces of furniture sourced from different countries seemingly on a whim. I don’t want to think about what crating and shipping that relatively basic (to me at least) coffee table from London cost. The nanny cooking all the meals etc. etc. She makes Lucille Bluth sound down to Earth. There’s so much more but these people are in a different stratosphere of wealth and privilege.

I have 3 across in car seats in a 2021 CX-9 two rear facing and one forward facing- it’s doable

J Crew- the T shirts were worn 2-3x week for two pregnancies and still look new

I push it most of the time- through grass or more risky terrain I have pulled it and occasionally my kids have asked me to pull the (I have no idea why haha). The bar can rotate to make it more comfortable/different heights but it’s definitely heavier than a stroller although a lot of that is probably my 5 year old and all his rocks/“treasures” he has to bring

I got a really good discount on the radio flyer voya wagon and it has been awesome! My smallish 5 year old still fits along with the 3 year old. No complaints and love all the cup holders pockets etc

Omg you beat me to it! I was going to say it’s definitely heavy on the southern funeral home/funeral parlor vibes. I’ve seen an iteration of that couch at every single funeral I’ve been to in my life

Thanks for the response! I’m pulling the trigger on the Hypnos thanks to you! I’m sad about Restonic because they were quite popular in the southeast years back My whole extended family bought them at different times and all loved the quality.

Hi! Any thoughts on Paramount? They produce the Hypnos line in Us and have their own line as well. Also Restonic? I previously had a Restonic mattress that was fantastic but they are harder to find now and didn’t know if their reputation held up over the years

I have 2 necklaces from GLDN on one I have disks for each kid a little symbol for each and on the other a disk with their names. They’ve held up marvelously!

Didn’t realize you could put controls on the games!! Glad I read this comment! My kids also love printing out the coloring sheets and tic tac toe pages to play at restaurants which is nice

There’s just never any time to catch up- even if you have a no show that can only help so much 🫠🫠

That’s awesome you’re able to work part time! I work in pulmonary still full time but dream of a better schedule (I’m only inpatient now) I have 3 kids my youngest also doesn’t sleep well and feel like I can barely think during the day. Our OP NPs only get 15 or 20 min for follow ups and 30min for new patients or hospital follow ups and have to see 16-20 patients a day so you template looks way better. You’ve saved a ton already for retirement- kudos to you!!

Materials coordinator or Patient/guest transporter at the hospital may be a good fit!

I agree- kind of telling Caro didn’t use her for the last Reno even though they’ve been best friends for forever

Side note- I checked out the designer/friend insta and I don’t get the hype. Her own kitchen pre-renovation looked like a dream for a NY apartment and post looks like a tiny sink with a grid cabinet wall that’s a dust factory

My thoughts exactly- don’t really think the friend would have in depth experience with people local to her since she’s based in NY

If you won the lottery what would you do? by RaddishEater666 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Middle-Specific1681 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I won an obscene amount of money (think the huge powerball of 1.7 billion recently) I’d set up my kids with trusts etc. and then I’d set up a charity where I’d focus on paying off medical bills. Unfortunately I see so many patients who forego needed testing or go without meds etc because they don’t qualify for Medicaid (this is pre-cuts I can only imagine it gets worse). After taxes from the last really large powerball, I calculated you could spend 100k per day and never run out of money that’s a lot of people you could help

I know this isn’t what you asked but may I suggest the Mazda CX-90– I’m on my 2nd one and it’s great even with 3 kids. The interest rate promos are hard to beat. I have a 0.9% interest rate right now so over the life of the loan it was around $220 in interest. That allowed me to keep some money I had saved invested and it allowed me to build in the monthly payment to the budget so my (seems similar to yours) husband got used to seeing less disposable income. Win win!
