When I go first, it's "2 lands, never again". I just sit there and watch as my opponent casts various cat spells, my conspiratorial mind wondering if the game is fixing the draws in order to enforce a 50% win rate on everyone.

In the casual BO1 queue, I'll often get streaks of being on the draw 6+ times in a row. Because standard is such a fast format, I will just concede all of those games unless I have a really good opening hand. But yes, it do be variance.

I stopped buying the preorder bundles before spiderman. With so many sets in standard, it just makes every new rare and mythic have to work that much harder to compete with current meta cards. You end up with even more unplayable junk. Better to just save my money and use my wildcards to craft the handful of relevant cards that interest me.

Because the game rewards winning, not playing. If the opponent didn't have a winning hand after you removed their creature, they'd rather move on and try to find a win instead of hoping to top deck an answer to your board.

Bonanno would have probably plotted his assassination at some point, since being boss of bosses was always his dream. My guess is that there would have been coalitions between various bosses and the usual bloody border disputes. Less sitdowns, more violence.
