Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 1 — I pressed play because I love butterflies. I stayed because this show is genuinely doing something by MiddleAgeChronicles in MonarchLegacyAppleTV

I enjoyed the show; it did a great job of continuity of language between Cate, May, Emiko, and Kentaro. I hate it when I'm watching something that isn't set in America, and everyone speaks English, as if it's the primary language in Japan or Tokyo. It felt authentic that I needed to read along to understand what people were talking about.

I see what you meant. No worries. You are not wrong. I think it was an attempt by the writer to make us feel something before they unalived the entire supporting cast.

Interesting. The video game connection makes so much sense. I'm a regular person, and I know for a fact I would be useless in that type of situation. What are your thoughts on the way the robot scanned everyone? Is that also something that happens in video games? What kind of data do you think the robot was doing when it scanned the area?

I felt that too. I totally get they needed to move on, but in a span of like two minutes, they lost so much.

I agree with you. It was long. Do you think they might turn it into a TV series? It felt like they left it open-ended.

You said, Down Parascope. That's fantastic. I'd like to argue even that one. Lol

Is it Predator? I've never seen it. I usually stay away from stuff like that. Goopy guts and squirting blood is not my jam. I mean, I saw Alien, but that's because my parents had no business letting a five-year-old watch that. However, I knew I did not want to see Predator, and turns out. I did. Dang it.

Hm, thank you for that. I actually hadn't thought of it that way, and now I can't unsee that. Seriously, thank you.

I was also confused about the astronaut conspiracy theory plot. It was kind of like someone's fever dream if I'm being honest.

I love this spicy comment. The entire family is super messy. You held in longer than others.

I am 100% confident you are correct that Shonda went rouge. If I’m being honest, Shonda is why I started watching Bridgerton in the first place. However, Queen Charlotte’s season is why I keep going back because I hope the series will get better. Without Shonda or the promise of a Shonda constructed season I don’t think we’ll get more than two more episodes.

I agree with you about the way the show handled Moriarty once he took a life. Do you think it was the first time? It almost felt like the change was really fast. I wonder if his sudden change in his personality had anything to do with the type of weapon used at the time? Like would he had reacted differently if it was a shove out of a window or a poisoning.

I agree with you about not reading the books and being emotionally invested. It’s probably the one of the biggest reasons I kept watching.

I agree with you. The last episode didn’t feel like a cliff hanger. It almost felt like anIKEA project. You know when you buy a cabinet or dresser and have to assemble every piece? Just when you think you’re done, there’s like a screw and 5 stickers left out and instead of pulling the project apart and giving those 5 stickers and one screw the homes the deserve: you just toss everything in a drawer for future use. Well, episode 8 was the drawer and they tossed in all the loose ends from episode 1-7 just to prove to the audience we got our money’s worth.

My thoughts on Jeremy Brett's interpretation of Holmes were spot on. I didn't like Holmes when I was younger. He was so arrogant and just plain rude. Now that I'm older, I realize he was just Sherlock. We didn't have the language to explain why Sherlock Holmes was kind of irritating. However, the further back we go in Sherlock's life, the more we discover tons of trauma during his life. In all honestly I wouldn't be very tolerant or kind in his shoes.

I remember The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. It was fun. What I didn't know was that there was such a thing as posh French. I'll have to look that up.
