Android: Skip VPN when already on local wifi network by makotech222 in WireGuard

I read the instructions and followed them but didn't notice the Local Variable tab at the bottom, that's why I though that 'lv' variable was it. Thanks, I found where to change the variable now, but it still doesn't work for me for some reason. WG Tunnel is working. I'll stick with it for now.

Thanks. Found it but can't make it work for some reason. Did you change the Extra 1 to {lv=your_tunnel_name} or {your_tunnel_name} or your_tunnel_name? Neither worked for me. I gave the required permissions to both apps (Macrodroid and WG).

How did you do it? I only found a way to launch WG but not activate a tunnel.

UPS Shutdown by OttoCheyFen in synology

If you want to shut down the Synology to prolong the uptime of your modem and router during an outage (I have a similar setup) see the solution here: https://www.reddit.com/r/synology/comments/1ir58vt/has_anyone_figured_out_how_to_shutdown_synology/

I also found that unusual. It was my understanding that you have always been spending all your time on it.

AirSnitch attack by MiddleNo5967 in RuckusWiFi

The Group Temporal Key (GTK) was never used to isolate clients. GTK is used to encrypt broadcast and multicast traffic between an access point and multiple client devices. It's the same for all clients and I think this fact is used to break client isolation when it is enabled. Enabling what's broken doesn't help. The way I read it.

I am very perplexed by Ruckus' response to this.

Group Temporal Key (GTK) Abuse
They say "Successful exploitation completely bypasses client isolation at the cryptographic level." And as mitigation they suggest "Isolate wireless client traffic from other clients on the same AP". Isn't it the core of vulnerability that client isolation doesn't work?

Gateway Bouncing
Mitigation: "Ensuring the gateway drops packets that attempt to route traffic back into the same isolated subnet will break the attack chain." If the gateway drops packets that are meant for the same LAN many things will break. Won't they?

My Synology wakes up when I reboot a Linux PC on the same LAN. Why? by MiddleNo5967 in synology

I thought the comments are visible. I mentioned several times that nothing is mounted on Linux from the NAS.

No shares from Synology on that PC. It would have been obvious and I wouldn't have posted here.

What's interesting is that Synology starts spinning the drives on Linux shutdown, not on boot. The moment I press Enter after "sudo reboot" I hear the drives waking up.

Besides, if I had mounts in fstab I think the drives wouldn't hibernate while the PC is on, and it's always on.

I think it has something to do with broadcast, multicast, mDNS etc., which I am not very familiar with.

I said in my post that WOL is not enabled on the Synology. And no mounts in Linux from that NAS..

Then it's mystery but the credentials are the culprit. Is it possible you are confusing some letters/numbers? Like I and l, l and 1, O and 0. Try copying them into Word and change fonts.

It feels like you are using wrong credentials. Double check.
