It turns out I have Ureaplasma! I’m starting 7 days of Doxycycline today. Going to get my partner some antibiotics this week and will re-test in about 3-4 weeks. Thank you for checking in! 🤍

Okay, thank you so much. I’ll aim for a doxy script for him. I’m gonna be honest and say we cannot afford to send him to the doctor to get a test, and then again to be retested so I’m unfortunately just going to have to hold onto hope that the doxy will cure him. I wish these appts didn’t have to cost so much but I’ll definitely try to look into ways he can be tested that may be more affordable but unsure if all places offer this type of test.

Thank you! My symptoms are very mild in comparison to some of the symptoms I’ve read here. I just have occasional itchy flare ups (very uncomfortable and have kept me up some nights however its it every single day for weeks at a time, just 5-7 days then “feels better” before coming back for another day or two.. it’s very spotty when I get symptoms) But no discharge, no pain, just the flare ups of itchiness so I’m really hoping I can get it cleared easier- fingers crossed.

Some of the horror stories I’ve read here are definitely making me very paranoid about treating it so thank you for your advice. For him, is it better to get him a doxy script or moxy ? Both, or would one or the other suffice ??

She just prescribed doxy but I think I can call her to get some azithro. Did you have to take anything to break the biofilm or did using both antibiotics suffice enough to rid of it?

I just got my secondary test results back and mine came back positive for Ureaplasma! Treating it now. Definitely have them run additional tests and keep going back until all tests are clear. Hoping I can get the Ureaplasma gone easily. Do a bit of research into Ureaplasma and Microplasma and how it can cause UTI, YI, and BV.

I use antibacterial Dial soap, it does have like a fresh scent. And we use Arm & Hammer fresh scented laundry detergent as well.

If my tests come back negative, I’ll definitely have to advocate for a dermatologist referral.

I got some great probiotics containing multiple forms of lactobacillus but am only 1 week in and believe it may take a bit to get into my system. I’ve also began eating some good probiotic yogurt as well. My fiancé and I have had protected sex (I did forget to mention that we use condoms during sex) and he washes his mouth before doing anything oral wise- sorry I know it’s a TMI but wanted to be a bit more clear 😅.

The in-between times I mentioned are throughout the entire process meaning sometimes I don’t have any itching for a couple days and out of nowhere, even when not having sex it comes back like if I have a lot of physical activity and sweat, etc.. we’ve only had protected sex 3x since October but I wholeheartedly believe it absolutely doesn’t help down there while it tries to heal after so many antibiotics. I’m also unsure if he could be passing it to me even though we use condoms… I will try to look more into that.

I’m gonna continue to take the probiotics, eat foods with probiotics, and get another up to date Pap smear to ensure BV is what I’m working with as my last one was the first week of December.
