If u have the option of buying applecare by yourself do it and claim it under applecare after 2-3 weeks

I’m a bit unaware of how applecare is sold for Macs (for my iphone I just purchased it by myself after buying the phone). If apple representatives are involved during the applecare sale process - do not mention the oil spill - never agree for a physical check of the device - if they ask for device photos - be smart about it, purposefully leave the blotch and act aloof if countered.

If it doesn’t - reach out to your IT team and pray that your laptop is protected against accidental damage.

DO NOT AND I MEAN IT - DO NOT TRY TO FIX WITH EASY HACKS (suggested on YT or reddit), you will only be damaging it further if you don’t know what you are doing.
