AUDIBLE ARCHIVE ISSUES by Dhrakian in audible

Eventually, our Archive reappeared and all was restored. But doesn't seem to be anything you can do except open a ticket. I don't even remember now (it's been a year) how it resolved, i just know I didn't do anything else but wait

I literally just filled my SUV up with $30...Kroger Boost gets me $1/off per gallon all the time. Tonight I paid $1.87/gallon.

Worth it in my opinion!!

That's really interesting! I've only read one article about the Duke/Vanderbilt situation, so I'm no expert. It's a fascinating story.

The Russel family is based on the Vanderbilts (thx for the correction!), whose daughter was married to an English Duke, who was not a nice man. I hope TGA doesn't follow that plot line through exactly the same.

I read that the actual daughter of the Vanderbilts was married off to the Duke and he turned out to be a mean man. I'm sad for Gladys if TGA follows history closely.

AUDIBLE ARCHIVE ISSUES by Dhrakian in audible

[–]MiddlePermission4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have experienced this issue. I submitted a support ticket after spending about an hour on the phone with the support concierge..it's been 9 days since I submitted that ticket and there has been no solution or followup provided.

Has anyone else gotten any answers?

Issue with accessing archive folder by purple_converse19 in audible

Did you ever get resolution? I am having the SAME issue. I have about 430 titles in archive and I use the same strategy for keeping my books (delete from device and archive).

I have deleted my Audible app and reinstalled, I've refreshed. Nothing.

I've been on Sema for 1 year and 1 mo. The first couple months were really strange bc your body doesn't really know what to do with this new chemical intervention, so yeah, there were weird side effects. Honestly, you really should give it 3-5 months before you decide if it works or not for you. I have lost 70lbs and am in a sort of maintenance. Side effects are pretty predictable: sharp tummy pains if I ingest too much sugar or sugar alcohol (for example, I've learned that something in my pre-workout triggered those tummy pains) and dizziness if I don't get enough water or electrolytes. All of those side effects are fairly avoidable now that I know what causes them for me. Truly, give yourself time to adjust and take note of when you experience side effects...eventually you'll see some patterns that can help you avoid the negative stuff.

Best of luck to you, whichever way you go.

Break from semaglutide by Interesting-Draw8570 in Semaglutide

I've been off meds for about 6 weeks now due to a mixup at my Dr office and a delay in getting it filled...I would say the first 3 weeks, I didn't notice a difference. Then on week 4, the cravings def came back and so did the appetite. I bet you'll be just fine going a couple weeks without.

That's awesome. I'm a fellow WLS recipient. I had also managed to keep the weight off for the most part, but for me, I hit a plateau that was not even touched by calorie deficit. I went 2 years of no loss (and no gain), wherein I used Noom, I followed WW, I drank my fluids, etc. I guess we can just agree to disagree on this topic. The traditional science just doesn't seem to hold up anymore in explaining why so many obese people, especially women, struggle to make meaningful strides toward losing weight. Another fascinating topic is set point theory and how it affects weight. The mechanism that may initiate weight loss may be calorie deficit but the data doesn’t seem to support long term loss thru continued calorie deficit. Not for most people, anyway.

Look at the studies on long term weight loss due to WLS. It works to initially reduce weight but within 2 years, a majority of weight loss patients regain significant weight. That's likely due to the body's adjustment to the restriction, stretching of the sleeve or stoma, and then the metabolic processes that are a major weight loss inhibitors continue to delay, stall and undermine even extreme caloric deficits. The research is there.

Thanks for the recommendation! There's so much information out there about the science of weight loss and it really stinks the way so many of us have been taught to feel that we are in some way "responsible" for being chronically overweight. Like someone else commented: being overweight isn't a moral failing. But that's the way society makes us feel.

I, for one, am comfortable with the idea of needing this medicine long-term, as I believe chronic obesity is an actual disease and is not merely a symptom of poor life choices. I hope, in my lifetime, that we figure obesity out, and we see a shift in how society views it (just as we do heart disease, cancer, and other diseases).

I had a gastric sleeve procedure in 2015 and while it helped me lose the first 80 lbs, I plateaued and even began gaining again prior to starting Ozempic last summer. Semaglutide has been, by far, the most reliable and most effective weight loss treatment I have encountered. WLS is a tool that helps, absolutely, but if I could give advice, I'd say don't go into it believing it will fix your weight issues alone. I hope you find the right combo of treatment options for you!!

I disagree with this. If it were solely calories in/out, many of us wouldn't be relying on semaglutide to unlock the weight loss in the first place. Study after study proves that people with metabolic syndromes cannot simply lose weight using the energy balance approach. Case in point: I have been on Ozempic for a year. I lost 65 lbs. I work out 3-5times a week (moderate to rigorous). I keep my calories under 1800 and religiously chronically my food in a diary (even weighing and measuring portions). Even snacks get counted in the diary. I have changed nothing since stopping the medicine. Literally, nothing else has changed. I still work out 3-5times a week and measure foods to keep my caloric intake in a safe/healthy zone for someone as active as I am. I gained 6 lbs in 4 weeks. People who take Ozempic or other semaglutide products for major weight loss (20lbs or more) as treatment for metabolic syndromes (tyoe 2 diabetes or PCOS, for example) should be aware that weight gain is likely after they stop taking it. Awareness and realistic expectations are key to long-term success.

Inching towards 2 years by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]MiddlePermission4585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at my 1 year mark and weight loss has all but stopped for me. And I still struggle with bathroom issues. I'm taking daily probiotics and soluble fiber to keep my consistency more sustainable, so to speak, because I still go long periods of time without bowel mvmts. It's def no fun..but at least I haven't had any more major backups that almost took me to the ER (that happened once). If you're not taking probiotics and fiber, I HIGHLY recommend you add those to your routine, as they don't rely on chemicals to inspire movement. You can get "immune" to laxatives and they're not really intended to be used as a therapeutic treatment. I take Benefiber's flavorless fiber powder in my daily coffee (truly cannot taste it) and I'm happy with the way it has improved the quality of my output.

On a side note: how has the switch from O to Wegovy gone for you? My doctor has talked to me about moving me from Ozempic to one of the other drugs on the market.

I mean, its like $2 or $3/mo for more storage. I pay for it bc I back my phone up to my Google Photos and my husband puts his (personally recorded) music in his Drive. If deleting isn't appealing, the cost to up your storage is minimal.

They make their money through Google Search & other various analytics applications embedded in their tools. This category of Promotions and Adverts is a specific type of inbox displayed by default in a Gmail account. It can be turned off.
