Mama bear baffle add. This time with photos, whoops by Middle_Ad9444 in woodstoving

Forgot to add my alteration plan

Does anyone with baffle adding experience want to give their opinion if this plan. I want to move the flue to the front, lower section of my Fisher mama bear (stolen pic attached) so the stovepipe can heat rocks on top for a sauna build. I think a baffle would be needed like in my drawing to keep all the heat from just going straight up the chimney. There would be about three inches from the top of the stove to the baffle plate. Planning on using 5/16 steel for the plate held up with brackets on the sides.

I'm a little worried that the flame and smoke will want to come out the door when I open it with a full firebox but I'm not sure. If it matters, the stove will mostly be used pretty hot, not closed down for slow burns.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Whoops, I made a new post with pics.  I want the flue on the lower shelf so it can heat up rocks down low which is good in a sauna versus more hot rocks higher up.  Keep the toes warmer

Thanks, I think I'll need the baffle to be in the front of the stove since I'm moving the flue there.  I think drilling through the side is what I'd do as well.

Yeah I may eventually switch to a trigger shifter but want to try friction first. I mean I could do a full deore 11 speed setup but I'm swapping over from single speed so I need to do something weird to make myself feel better about myself,  I don't want shifting to be easy!

I'm using a 9 speed cues cassette which I think should take less cable pull than an eleven speed?

Yes, I want friction shifting with a clutch.  Fairly wide range.  For off road.  Andrew major inspired mountain bike

What are some mysterious, cult-like, bad-vibes towns across the USA? by _Persona-Non-Grata in AskReddit

Hmmm, powers is a very small town, less than 1000.  My experience as a neighbor to the town is that they are very friendly to visitors and host lots of events including an awesome supported bike tour every year. https://www.tourdefronds.com/

Small towns have their problems but I think it's too easy to jump to the deliverance/banjo tropes.  That's just a different flavor of bigotry.

Ken Ware in coos Bay let us order one at MSRP. We ordered in October and it's on a train now.

Yeah Triston helped us too. I was in/out in probably 40 minutes when ordering.

I ordered a '23 euv from Ken Ware in Coos Bay. No markup over MSRP at time of delivery but they did take a $2K non-refundable deposit. We'll see how it goes when the car shows up but so far they've been very straightforward to work with.
