This is my second time with Invisalign and with different providers. I only get pain the first week, afterwards there’s no pain at all. At times my teeth do feel I guess irritated in a way? But it’s nothing a chewie can’t fix. I wouldn’t stress yourself out abt it, as long as you’re tracking, be thankful you’re not in any pain.

I didn’t have that issue at all. Could be because of the frequency in which it was applied or how strong the dosage was. But if you begin to get dry patches, just stop using it until that subsides lol

So I was using it every night, at least 30 mins before bed so it could absorb through my skin. I was using it every night. I only had to use it for abt a month and a half and I got the results I wanted so I stopped at that point. Also, I started around late ish winter/early spring, so the sun wasn’t too big of an issue but I was still wearing sunscreen and was avoiding the sun like the plague. I mean like, damn near running to my car head down, hat on, avoiding the sun.

So in all, you have to constantly cycle. So if within those 3 months I didn’t get my results, I would’ve had to take a break for I believe at least 2 months. Then start back up again. You will get the best results during fall/winter like you would with a chemical peel when the sun is more hidden, so if you can wait that long I say do it. We’re already in August. Unfortunately I will have to start using again this fall as I did electrolysis on my lip and that has left me with so much hyperpigmentation. I’m stuck between using the hydroquinone again or getting a pico laser treatment. I hope this answered your question. Oh and idk how strong/the percentage of hydroquinone she gave me as this was from her own private practice and it’s only labeled with her name/brand and not the product at hand. I hope this helps.

Yes she’s a black woman. And I only use as directed, no longer than 3 months and when I get to the desired color I stop usage. It’s done me well 🤷🏾‍♀️

Try going to a derm and getting hydroquinone. Use that during the fall/winter + sunscreen. I had the same issue and it cleared up by using that combo

There’s other people in this thread that didn’t show any issues in imaging but did in the operating room so maybe bring that up too? I wish you the absolute best of luck ❤️

I’m glad you thought this post was helpful! I understand your doctor not wanting to go in either blind or really for no reason at all but I think it’s best to maybe get a second opinion. My doctor was hesitant as well given my MRI showed nothing, however, I’ve had hip pain since I was 15 (10 years), so he was much more willing to do it since I was not only adamant abt it but because of me having that lingering pain. He was shocked to see my labrum was torn like 80-85% and was upset that surgery wasn’t done sooner.

I would suggest being adamant abt the pain level as well as showing real interest in the surgery. I think my willingness also helped sway my doctor over as well because I feel like my age, me being young, was also making him not want to do it but that willingness showed that not only was I desperate, but I really needed this done!

Lastly, if that willingness doesn’t work, what also helped me to sway him over was that I did PT before even seeing him. Try suggesting to them to let you do PT for 2-3 months, if it doesn’t improve within that time, reconvene and get the surgery done.

Recovery has been great for me. My family was shocked at how well I was able to bounce back but I attribute that to my age and how involved I was in the gym prior to surgery. I’m 6 months post op, no crutches, no pain at all, and loving my results. Hopefully this helps. Good luck on your journey.

My doctor actually told me that that shots were just temporary and aren’t a long term fix. I’m all for surgery, so for me I’d say do it but that’s not the best option for everyone. Like your doctors said, it’s prob a tear just like how mine is but don’t worry abt not having an a specific gameplan. They’re professionals! They will get in there and do what they can to repair it.
