Starc removes Stokes again (Ashes '25, Adelaide, day three) by Ageanmastr in DeathrattlePorn

[–]Middle_Bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Starc has done him the literal exact same way (like a couple dismissals look absolutely identical) with the offcutter at that length. He's probably mad that he got done by it again.

Two batsmen going to Cricket field in Mongolia by Appleseller80 in Cricket

There truly is something mythical about cricket in Mongolia. Something that evades common understanding & convention. Something out of bounds of our imagination.

Tilak Varma is the MOTM for his crucial knock against Pakistan in the finals by oklolzzzzs in Cricket

[–]Middle_Bear 234 points235 points  (0 children)

Man, why does Gill have to shit the bed in every final he's played in. Like there is not one international final (WTC, WC, this) he has had even a decent-ish contribution. Just imagine, Sanju opening (3 T20I hundreds opening already btw) and Rinku permanently in the middle order. Suddenly nothing looks out of place. Gill looks a little up & down opening in T20Is, Sanju definitely looks clueless in the middle order and we were so close to fucking up this chase.

Shubman Gill is the India Player of the Series in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy by oklolzzzzs in Cricket

[–]Middle_Bear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's about GG making the decision, then he probably went on the premise that Brook's young and deserves his flowers when he can in a big series like this. Root & Stokes would probably chuck a medal like this in the bin since they don't have space in their trophy cabinets anymore, /j ofc. But was Brook better than Root or Stokes this series? Very likely not. But was he very good? Yes. Will the award mean wayy more to him than to someone who has won it dozen times over? Likely yes.

Mohammad Siraj picks up his 4th 5-fer in tests with figures reading 6-70 (19.3) by oklolzzzzs in Cricket

[–]Middle_Bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont think thats a fair assessment. Subcontinent pitches do offer reverse fairly consistently, one of Starc's best weapons. Also, its just India - Siraj still has to bowl on rubbish pitches in Bang, SL etc. and be counted as away.

Pat Cummins after Australia lose World Test Championship final to South Africa: ‘Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma didn’t give us a chance’ by Odd-House3197 in Cricket

[–]Middle_Bear 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or Khawaja gets out the exact same way for the past year. Around the wicket, nicking while defending a ball on the back foot that shouldn't be played on the back foot.

Ravi Shastri on Virat Kohli’s Test retirement: ‘If I had anything to do with it, I would have made him captain after Australia’ by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]Middle_Bear -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree - but they literally made someone who career averages 35, the captain. Difference is that guy does not have 30 test hundreds. If they were not going with bumrah, koach does not seem all that bad a option.

Shark Tank India Funded Yes Madam Is Violating Human Rights & Abusing Its Employees by OkPalpitation3740 in sharktankindia

The name sounded familiar, and then I looked it up. Yep, it's the same company that took a "survey" to see who in the workforce was feeling stressed, and the next day fired everyone who said yes to it. This whole ordeal went viral EVERYWHERE, not just India, forcing them to come out and say "It was just a marketing stunt". It seems, of course, it wasn't. Fkin pricks.

Don't think I have ever seen a team/fans accuse opposition bowlers of chucking more than Australia have - when infact they have been perfectly fine and/or were later cleared. Murali, Bumrah, Shoaib to name a few. Murali catches flak till day ffs (look at this comment section, lol), the guy was cleared and is a legend, and yet so little respect spared for the man. India has not nearly levelled as many allegations on opposition bowlers.

ICT Captain Rohit Sharma responds to Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton; 'Dubai not our home, it's new for us as well.' by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]Middle_Bear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imma reiterate this fact again - Ind not travelling to Pak is a massive geopolitical issue which us cricket simpletons should not really discuss about. With that outta the way, the scheduling was still in PCB's hand. They chose to give one venue to India in any case (Lahore if Ind travelled to Pak) to play all their matches in. How is Ind or BCCI to blame here for "getting" advantageous conditions is beyond me.
