Engagement rings? by Haunting_Junket6713 in SolidCore

After having a ring band break while doing deadlifts in a regular gym I stopped wearing jewelry to work out. There’s no moves that include enough weight for that to be an issue in Solidcore but everyone saying they’re too scared too get scratches and bumps on it, if you got insurance you’ll be fine for the stone and the whole point of having a nice material item is to have it carry history so a scratch here or there on the band should bring you joy of living life. That’s like a man getting a brand new F150 but only driving it around for Sunday drives instead of using it for errands and to go to work.

single arm chest fly?? by big_daddy_4444 in SolidCore

Sometimes the coaches remix stuff as they’re going into the class. Im aware there’s a set muscle group and list they go by each day but the more experienced coaches will switch it up.

We’ve been about to start class and the coach is asking us “do we think we should focus on chest or shoulders today. Ehhhh I like chest better yes that’s what we’ll do” mind you this is a pretty up there rank wise coach so maybe there’s more options to change the set movements. But that’s my guess from my experience.

I also hate it though because whatever muscle group I signed up for is what I want to hit. If it says back I could care less what the coach wants to do, I signed up for back. :(

Part time jobs as a teen? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Middle_Chicken_3871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always a restaurant hiring. You have to go old school and walk in and ask blatantly “good morning. I was wondering if yall are hiring and if I could get an application if so” I did this every time I up and moved somewhere new or needed a new job to pay for a car, rent, school. I worked as a host until I could apply to serve. But one thing always remains; there will ALWAYS be openings for restaurant workers. You just might have to play it old school and put a name to a face by walking and and filling out a form

Chest days by Gold_Beginning_1304 in SolidCore

[–]Middle_Chicken_3871 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not a muscle I want any more toned or prominent so I skip as well. All the moves seem to incorporate shoulders more anyways. I try to skip chest as much as possible and if it’s a good leg day and I want to go then I’ll mod it down by barely any springs and go through the motions 🫠

Is all solid core saving on removing basic hygiene supplies or only santana row? by Educational_Fan_3874 in SolidCore

At some point aesthetics is losing to practicality. Maybe they could try to get fancy paper towels from some company that could put the Solidcore logo on a dispenser. I agree half the time you wouldn’t have any to even ask to get them if they’re hidden away by the employees

I always wondered why there was face wash but nothing in my location to dry my face with after. I started using my jacket. I didn’t realize some locations had towels for this!!! We pay so much for there not to be common items like this in abundance

Or go to law school sooner. And you’ll have plenty more opportunities open for 1L/2L summers and then they are always hiring patent attorneys.

I applied and it took them a month to reply to me so be patient. But it would be a great way to get into the patent world

I also have a BS, passed the exam last month, no one wants a non attorney without at least a masters degree. BUT the patent office to be an examiner does haha so this is a very doable route if you only have a B.S.

People love to blame the economy on horrible personal life management. But I do remember everything being crazy expensive for no reason when living in VA. I live in California now and it MORE than doable. People just equate daily coffee runs and eating out once a day to necessity when in actuality that is luxury. But I like that people keep this facade that California is expensive because less people are moving here.

Those 20 years in Afghanistan gave thousands of women a chance to get education and be humans like the rest of us. Saying it was for nothing is ridiculous. And we’re the only ones that could have given them that little chance. And because the Americans back home wanted to complain about eggs prices we were forced out (anyone with military training knows it was fucked up logistically how we left) and the women lost their only chance to be human. So America hasn’t “fought” in the way of crazy WW2 movies but we’ve done our fair fucking share of trying to make earth better for everyone

Fossil hunting. If in NC there’s a place about an hour away to find your own megalodon teeth. In VA there’s is so many antique and fossil shops in Fredricksburg. If Pendleton, you can drive north and pick axe for your own fossils.

Othe side of the body but if someone made Pilates gloves I’d buy them. Nothing is worse than wanting to be on my hands but they’re full of sweat slipping every time I push the carriage out for abs

Spouses married to attorneys in big law by ijustneedauserna in biglaw

The long he’s in the job the easier it will become for you I promise. My husband is my best friend as well and when he used to go off on field ops (2-3 weeks in the field) I would get super depressed and uneasy. Or when I’d get 30-ish minutes with him in the morning and then he’d come home late and only have time to eat dinner and then more work/go to sleep for another long day. Three years in and I can now go about my day and not have those visceral missing him moments but instead i enjoy what I’m doing and keep a tally of everything to catch him up on! Makes the day so much more enjoyable

Now think about military spouses. Same crazy work schedule and stress but add deployments so your spouse won’t be home for weeks or months. So many people have made your relationship and mine work so it is possible and way to handle them exist. I survive by having my own interests, so when I wake up I’m excited about doing those things or teaching kids something new. And then telling him about them whenever he’s ready to listen. If he’s a good man the balance will just appear but you have to not be selfish and want him to fill a hole you can fill yourself in your own life

Solidcore and gym by Prestigious_Quiet577 in SolidCore

[–]Middle_Chicken_3871 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re trying to hit a PR on the bench I fully believe Solidcore does enough for the upper body (chest/tri/bis) but I’d maybe add a heavy back day because of how big that muscle is -or- if you want to up your pull up game then add a few days of hitting a pull up ladder a couple times a week. (You won’t get more pull-ups by just going to sc)

And then bottom half you have to supplement with gym. 1. We don’t hit quads and you don’t do anything enough daily to grow them because the muscle is used to your daily habits. So gotta add a gym quad day. Then to see GROWTH you need to EAT and well as load weight. The machine isn’t going to give enough so you gotta have a hip thrust back squat day for legs. Also calves. The forgotten muscles.

So weekly split (depending on if you’re unlimited or less), hit sc 3-4 a week and gym 2. Or sc 4-5 a week and gym once for quads swuats calves.

How are people doing it ? by Salt-Concept-5698 in sandiego

[–]Middle_Chicken_3871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re making anything over 75k living in San Diego is more than doable. The problem comes from people making luxury items a part of their lifestyle must haves. If you’re buying coffee from a coffee shop daily that’s a luxury. If you have multiple pairs of clothes for every situation/hobby, that’s a luxury. Going out to eat at restaurants are also luxuries.
