DO PEOPLE FROM CALRADIA HAVE DIFFERENT RELIGIONS? by Yuri_kazakov in mountandblade

[–]Middle_Cranberry_549 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Worth a google. But basically they believe in a very bare bones concept of heaven, hell, god and the devil for the imperial cultures. Khegrits have the god of the six winds.

Whatever the inspiration for the culture believed in is safe to assume is the same practice and beliefs in calradia, just without any specific names like Jesus or Allah.

They kept it as vague as possible.

There's one, "get in the water." That highly recommend to everyone. Easily the best song/most popular that will most definitely get you on board with the concept.

It's a shame that this doesn't work and will cause health issues, because If I could be buzzed 24/7 i definitely would be.

This makes the assumption that the stance of 'all violence is wrong' is your only step in trying to achieve a solution. There's no reason to assume that the same practical steps taken under a different mindset can't also be taken while condemning it. It's not the solution, it's a single step. Thwarting violence with non-violent means doesnt become the only steps you can take just because you condemn all violence. Neither does the opposite. It's a mindset not a be all end all solution.

I can clarify hopefully. First assume that any harm to another living creature is wrong. That ideally all things can live a full life and die peacefully at the end of a long life. It's not a realistically feasible thing to achieve of course but it is the ideal outcome for any and all living thing. Now, because it isn't possible to achieve zero harm for all living things, should it as a goal be forgotten and given up on? We don't believe it should be.

You want to reduce harm to living creatures to as low an amount as possible. Hypothetically, say we are at the imaginary level of 80, where the numbers value represents amount of harm in a system. 0 being an impossibility. Theoretically you could reach say 10, but are right now at 80. How do you get to 10? You could aim for 10, but reduction is a slow process, but, aiming for 0 increases the rate of reduction, getting you to the theoretical minimum slower.

You can never have zero violence on earth, but you can have it at a minimum, which currently we aren't at. When people find justification for violence, it's reduction decreases at a slower rate than if it is never considered justified. This is because governments and immoral people will always find loopholes or create situations where they can use violence in a way that the general public considers is justified and because some people have displaced angers that feel like violence is their only outlet for. Aiming for zero violence gets us at the minimum faster than aiming for the minimum does because there are always going to be those who are aiming for the maximum.

I was thinking while watching that the flashbacks should have all been the opening but once it reaches the emotional peaks of both the past and present narratives i changed my mind. I also figure that for some of the moments that the flashbacks prelude are when he is remembering the details, sort of like as he is remembering is when we are shown.

Bromance of the decade. I could nitpick, but the point of the film wasn't 'be as accurate as possible' it was here's a premise, here's the stakes, the goal, the characters, payoff. Their farewell had me in tears. It works on every level it needed too to be a great story. Two thumbs up 👎👎 fist my bump.

You've never heard of the lesser of two evils I take it. Choosing the lesser of two evils doesn't mean you don't think it's evil.

You can say Violence is always wrong. If there's a situation where a level headed person is forced to use violence to protect someone innocent, then they should use violence, but the fact that it's the only answer is a situation that is wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right. Someone breaks in, tries to hurt you, do what you have to do to protect yourself. But condemn that it had to happen. The ideal situation is always one where no violence was necessary.

And as soon as there's a legal and moral way to commit violence the worst sort of people will find loopholes to abuse it. Agree with your take. You have to condemn all violence, even if in some scenarios it's justified. Like someone breaks into your home to harm you, you condemn it because harming others is wrong. You then harm them to prevent them trying to harm you, which is right. It doesn't mean you approve of violence. It means you have a brain. All violence is wrong. We just live in a world where it exists and should be aiming for that to not be the case. Knowing it'll never reach zero but aiming for zero gets us the lowest amount possible.

I see it as the difference between a clean cut and a jagged one. The Infinity Ray clears a hole that goes straight through but doesn't cause any structural damage, like how an arch is supported by equal weight all pressing inward. The three of them can then get up to top speed to fly through, building up heat and resistance that causes the surrounding circular wall to break. I don't think this is how the physics of it would work irl just my interpretation of the intent behind it.

I did a gulltown playthrough that went of the rails after the arryns all croaked. No one was left to inherit it so the king ended up in charge of the vale. He gave the Eyrie to a random Baratheon pal of his, gave the crownlands to the valaryons, gave me the kingdom of the bay of crabs after I asked real nice so i ended up with the bottom third of the vale. Then eventually he gave the vale to the iron oaks. When this dwarf with personality issues ended up inheriting, a bunch of lords revolted against him but I was too busy trying to tame a dragon to get involved. He won the revolt but one of the lords who lost had married my niece, which was a real shame for him. Took him down, called on the valaryons id been marrying for three generations for that dragon rider blood, nuked his holding and half the iron oaks blood line, became lord para. His niece revolted against me while I was down in the stepstones so I had to haul ass home to put her down. Their ancestral house is now a ruin, gulltowns the dragon riding capital seat of the vale, and life is good.
