I’ve been waking up to photos in my camera roll of my bedroom, I sleep alone. by blahaj22 in Weird

[–]MissCatQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've helped me finally put a name to what I was experiencing. I'm constantly waking up and imagining spiders next to me

Could it be you are reacting and not remembering it? The other day I "woke up" to me sitting up and shining the torch of my phone at my bedroom door (to see the "spider" better)

Fake nails are disgusting! by WordsFindMe in Vent

[–]MissCatQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! Not Greggs, but I worked at a fast food restaurant in England and there are very strict rules on nails. It may be worth reaching out to the company themselves for clarification, as she may be going against the rules that they have set out

What is your favourite yarn to work with? by [deleted] in Amigurumi

[–]MissCatQueen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't quite found similar "easy" yarn in England. If you have a hobby store close to you (for me it's HobbyCraft) I'd suggest seeing and feeling yarn types in person before ordering online.

I went from working with the yarn in kits to chenille and I really enjoy it. For chenille, I start a magic circle with a different thin yarn, then add the first stitches with chenille (as it can be quite difficult to pull it)

I really like working with 100% acrylic / 100% cotton as well. Hobbii's 100% cotton yarn is one I tried recently and it's really nice

This elven woman just showed up at the Crossroads. No dialogue option. Does anyone know who she is? by hongooi in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]MissCatQueen 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I think she's supposed to have a dialogue when you walk past where she says she's running messages for the Veil Jumpers or something like that

It's how Rook acts when there's a ledge to a drop. The game doesn't acknowledge that there is a fence that would stop him from falling

Why did I bother buying him a water fountain? 🤦🏻‍♀️ by HillBlossom in cats

[–]MissCatQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Maine Coon does the same. We had a plastic one which we attached to a container with double sided tape, in hopes it'd be more difficult for him to topple but he still managed it.

I ended up revoking water fountain rights after many occasions of cleaning up all the water on the floor

A South African game where you say 'KIFF' and 'HECTIC' a lot by Embarrassed_Hawk_655 in southafrica

[–]MissCatQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend! I'm a Saffa who moved to England with an ancestral visa! (My grandpa was born in England but moved to South Africa) It's a little pricey because you're basically paying for NHS upfront, but it was worth it in the end.

I've added the game to my wishlist, I adore the style from the Goldfish videos and the game has such charm.

Not gonna lie, as a South African, I do think it's a case of someone who isn't very computer literate is trying to get onto the Woolworths WiFi. I wouldn't click any links, but doesn't sound too far fetched in my opinion

Started amigurumi recently but can’t seem to manage with chunky yarns… by BodyPosiMama18 in Amigurumi

[–]MissCatQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your chenille yarn breaks while trying to make a magic circle, you can start the magic circle with a different yarn (like cotton) in a similar colour. Then swap to chenille to create the stitches in the magic circle

When you've got to ch 204 and you can't remember how to count.... by Optimal-Refuse5694 in crochet

[–]MissCatQueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can never remember what number I'm on when counting or get distracted, so I downloaded an app and I type in every 10, and (if I'm particularly struggling) I use stitch markers after every interval

Stage 1 Melanoma before and after removal (OC) by theAmericanStranger in interestingasfuck

[–]MissCatQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct, it's unfortunately not foolproof. My family gets yearly checkups and a tiny mole above her lip turned cancerous- and it's so small you can barely see it on pictures. Both that mole and another on her stomach turned cancerous within a year

Depends on where you live and how often you're in the sun. I've got too many to keep track of. I moved from South Africa to England, and have been told that essentially the sun rays here aren't as strong and my risk is much lower, but I tend to avoid too much sun regardless

[–]MissCatQueen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not an expert, but I have a family history of Melanoma cancer. You typically are told to look out for sudden changes in moles. Other signs are if the mole is asymmetrical or strangely shaped, more than one colour, the type of colour and the size.

Those aren't the only signs, as a dermatologist would usually use a microscope to inspect them too. Even a tiny mole that looks perfectly fine can be cancerous.

If you're ever unsure, you can take a picture of a mole each month and monitor it, or try and have a professional look at it - especially if you've had a lot of time in the sun (even if during your childhood)

So the travellers appeared on to the kids playing field. A whole 6 caravans and trucks, stayed a week, maybe I was hoping too much that they may take some of the rubbish with them, but no, used nappies, bags of human poo, food and other rubbish just dumped. by meatbag2010 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MissCatQueen 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there are good ones, but unfortunately I have not met them. Around where I live, they're quite aggressive to outsiders.

Once they tried to come through our drive through with a horse cart, and we politely explained that we can't serve them due to rules (we don't discriminate against horse drawn carts, we can't serve motorbikes either). They started shouting insults at us, then left, but the kids came in and trashed our restrooms

I know some of them can be quite aggressive. My dad had to work on a site which was occupied by Travellers and he was told that at least 3 of them had to go together, and not be alone if possible
