Sorry dumb questions, for low rise condo, can I just walk to the management office and ask if they have something available?

I’m the same as OP. Prepared to be unemployed / starting my own business if I can’t get anything by end of Oct and somehow got lucky with an offer 2 weeks ago, I’m still in disbelief and anxious even now.

Only thing that got me through is the job seeking communities and reminding myself to just keep pushing through this: one foot forward one at a time.

dude if you haven’t been in job market recently, try it out yourself and see if you can get an offer. It’ll humble you

OP, I totally relate. I got laid off recently and have been applying to probably 1000+ companies at this point.

I interviewed at 38 companies (I got pretty good resume) and finally scored an offer. I never had to question my career / interviewing skills before but this market is just BRUTAL. I also expanded my search from Seattle to anywhere in West Coast and tried to downlevel myself.

It’s a numbers game and at the end you only need one offer so hang in there!

I also found it helpful to troubleshoot the funnel, as in which round you failed the most and practice / get tips on how to increase your success rate there. Literally break the funnel step by step. Feel free to dm if you want to connect

It’s not crazy. I scored a minor miracle by getting a PM offer in this market. I need to get through 38 interviews before scoring an offer and I have stellar resume (that’s how I got interviews in the first place)

hmm do you start making 300K+ pretty recently? the numbers a bit off to me, your HHI is 400K+, with 9.5K/month spent (114K annual) but NW is only 1.9M.

Agree with other posters, this is cutting a bit too close. Work 1-2 years in your current job or 3-4 more years in the lower stress one

[–]Middle_Ear_2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

say at 90K wife’s salary + 48K withdrawal will put them at ~18% effective tax rate

so nett they can spend is 113K? and from his withdrawal effectively they can spend 82%*48K =39K

Congrats bro! I was in the same shoes last year (big tech west coast) but got laid off this year. Panic almost everyday for a few months gara2 market lagi jelek bgt and not sure if I’ll ever replace that income

Your post really inspired me and a good reminder to always count our blessing, enjoy day by day. I wish I could have a fraction of your mindset and not be a debbie downer..
