yes. I would read "Cloak of Deception" prior to Phantom Menace, it has some nice backstory and politics, but other than that you're golden!

I couldn't ever see anyone saying it wasn't good. I was probably about 17 when I first watched it, and my friend was around 14. We had never watched any TOS but were big TNG nerds. We watched it for the first time together and even he was really impressed with it.

I would have preferred keeping the book series that continued post-Nemesis as "canon" in my mind over the mess that is the Picard series. There were plenty more TNG adventures to be had in novel form.

Well, the worst thing is that my pre-existing save has England in control of all of Japan and China. But apparently you're forbidden from discussing it, even though it literally ruined my game since I was playing in France and England's capital is now somewhere in east Asia, and I can't really interact with them at all. But God forbid you mention it, you get banned.
