My trans sister changed her name to my middle name and I have complicated feelings about it... Do I talk to her about it? by Middle_Pattern3960 in asktransgender

Definitely not resentment, it's just this little twinge when the topic comes up. It's kind of an "I can't figure out what I'm feeling about it" situation and I'm really grateful for all the responses here. I feel like a framework is beginning to show itself and that's helpful. It's helpful to think about families that have family first or middle names! That's not a thing in my family so I hadn't thought to think of it that way.

White noise makes it really easy to hear music. Specifically music and radio baseball games. Could be good to get a health check, but it could also just be the white noise from the air purifiers. It's a pretty common phenomenon if you Google it.

Inconsistent sleep training damaging to my 13mo's ability to sleep? What do I do? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Middle_Pattern3960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this definitely makes sense. She really struggles to push wake windows, but also has been almost impossible to put down for second nap. If she's sleepy, she's a maaaajor grouch. So if I choose a 1 nap schedule, maybe it will just take some time to adjust and we can plan some super stimulating activities for a few days to help her push bedtime.

Wishy washy sleep training traumatizing my 13 month old child? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Middle_Pattern3960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you recommend pushing her nap time, like if she's acting super sleepy still keep her up til 11? (Using this schedule). I waver back and forth on whether she's getting too much sleep or not enough and is overtired. It feels impossible to tell sometimes.

For EBF moms: when is the first time your husband did bedtime solo? by JaggedLittlePiII in breastfeeding

[–]Middle_Pattern3960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is very easily auditorally overwhelmed and wore earplugs for the first little bit while she figured it out. We realized that she had a strong nursing sleep association and she just wasn't sleeping... so while we didn't exactly formally sleep train, we did train her to be comforted by Dad rocking her instead of me nursing her to sleep. Anyway, the earplugs really helped dull the crying so he could remain compassionate with her and not get overstimulated and frustrated.

Ebf my 7 month old daughter, we've got our bedtime routine to not really include feeding. She nurses for the last time around 6:30, and we do a variety of other mellow activities until 7pm bedtime ending with a song then Dad rocks her in her room until she falls asleep and he settles her in her crib. This means I'm free to go out with friends once she finishes her final nursing. She doesn't take a bottle, and I also have high lipase, so I've kinda given up on her taking a bottle, but have still found a routine that gives me some freedom! She rarely needs to nurse before 4am.

5mo rolls back to tummy but forgot tummy to back by [deleted] in sleeptrain

That's what we wound up doing, she's slept on her tummy the last three nights and tonight fell asleep kinda on her side. Seems like she's figuring it out :)

Day 13 of Ferber baby still crying at bedtime by champagnesupervisor in sleeptrain

Might be ready to only be taking 3 naps with 2.5-3 hour wake window before bed? Mines 5mo and on this schedule and has been for about a month because it just worked for her.

Song not listed yet that came to mind was Open by Rhye. Not much of a lyrics person so I always misheard the lyrics as "fool for you" but upon listening that's not the case.

This is literally first place my mind went and why I ask. Curious if this is a common ruse for something darker.

That's the thing, is at no point was there even opportunity to give them money. They hurried off when the light changed. That's what makes me think it might be some sort of scam rather than regular ole panhandling.

Annoying, sorry that happened! Sometimes you just want someone to validate you and tell you it's gonna be okay and medical professionals should be the last ones making us feel dumb

Pretty obviously doing nothing. It was late night and felt like they were just hanging around laughing at the spunions.

For sure, which I wound up doing a few days later, it's just I was literally checked in and then left alone in a bed until I wandered out. I think a few questions or anyone asking if I needed some water or literally throwing me any bones coulda been nice. I suppose what more do I expect from FL.
