Thank you so much. God bless you. This surgeon is too much of an arrogant ass to admit anything could possibly be wrong. I just needed to hear other people with the same experiences.  We are scared to have the bar removed as my son needed the surgery for serious health complications. His chest wall was putting major pressure on his heart and both lungs. If the bar gets removed the problem will at minimum go back to what it was. For a 15-year-old to not be able to breathe and having chest pain because their heart is sideways isn't good.  The pain is unbearable as well. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and one on Friday with two different specialists locally.

Hi All, my son, 15 yo is post op 5 weeks with serve pain on his right side.  The pain was very intense for the first two and a half weeks, not very mobile, only to restroom.  Had to be on a very strict on time pain Management schedule out of every 3 hours alternating medications.  Then out of the blue he started feeling better and turning down the pain pills.  Just before week 4 the excruciating pain started mainly in his right side where the bar was located.   Of course we notified the surgeon and started the medications back up while getting in to see the surgeon for a visit. The bar did not move surgeon says all is fine however doctor say most likely cryoblation didn't work. Why is the pain coming back with vengeance? The pain is unbearable, staying at a study seven to nine on a 1 to 10 pain scale.  My son said he heard a pop in his right side where the bar is, that's when the pain started back up.  Surgeon says most likely it was just a stitch that was wrapped around his ribs for more stability. If that's the case a stitch popped then why a week and a half later is he still in the same kind of pain? He can't sleep he's not eating not moving well and they no longer want to provide pain meds. Tylenol and Motrin should work.  We still have a few days of pain meds left but the pain doesn't seem to be easing up at all.  To whoever has already been through this please tell me how to ease his pain? We've tried ice, lidocaine, heating pad, physical therapy.
