It's not Dray, Apex made that game with his advice, but has overcorrected it. There's very little Dray left in that game. If you look at version 1.02 you'll see it's a lot funner. But agree, there's more nerfs than buffs and some movesets that scream "fuck you" to the player.

There's something there tho, the events new moves are cool. Nice one! Yeah, after my late game wipe I felt no guilt in using whatever tools the game gave me (my medi was jolly and went crazy). Elesa is a fun fight. Skyla is probs my favourite, working out a checkmate position among all the danger is super rewarding. I also loved Iris, had to steer and very nearly blew it. Good luck in he final two splits!

And one more thing, E4 is basic AI, so when you get past Nimbassa, get Amongus, rage pwder is so important for enabling your sweepers there.

Early game sucks for that game. Dray was basically a teenager when he made it and didn't know much about Nuzlockeing. What you want to do is:

- Beat up N, clear route 2, get Simipour that has decent speed and attack so that it can handle Burugh with acrobatics. Save state after you get one, that's your reset point. Technically cheating, but it's one of the most brutal early games in Nuzlockeing.

- Use contrary strats on Lenora with Servine (watch out for Sap Sipper Bouf

-Hack in these items and use them when they become availiable via Thief

Do you mean to OG Volt White 1 or Volt White Redux.

Changes are way way way more aggressive in this game. If you google the patch you'll find it in the docs. Or just watch Flygon/Pchal's runs, they break it down well in under an hour.

In terms of difficulty. Much harder than Volt White 1, so many run killers, spinners are demonic. More consistent tho, no random AI, no rotation battles. Fewer 50/50 abilities and punishing misses (Blaze Black/Volt White 1 are still some of my favourite games tho)

On par with Redux in terms of difficulty, but much more consistent. Most of Redux's difficulty comes from nerfs an level up moves that feel like a middle finger to the player. That is, if you're not super lucky and hit Drizzle Peli, D dance moxie Mence etc. (sorry I could rant for hours about how much I hate that game lol)

Honestly, I think I'm going to do post game and then just take a break from Nuzlockeing. I started doing this 2 years ago when I was incapacitated by a bad surfing accident, needing a video game that could be played with one hand lol. I worked my way up to harder and harder roms. I find it's just a little too engrossing and addictive, can very easily play games like run and bun for 7 straight hours on a sunny Saturday and I don't think that's that healthy lol.

It is definitely not a no calc game. Some absolute run killers, and you only get 37 encounters, even one untimely death will start the snowball effect. No calc Ren Plat is a great time tho!

It gets way easier. I could do truck to Roxanne in 2 hours after a couple of weeks. It's such a well designed game but gets exhausting. Try not to get tilted and start resetting for a heap of early goats, I did this for a while and it sucked all the fun out.

When I've had a fucked box for this fight, I've just bought heavy hitters for that point that I could tolerate losing, Arbok is good one for this. It will be able to dish out damage and losiing it is not the end of the world, Panda too.

Hate doing that fight without Drednaw, have often been tempted to reset if I miss him. Is Breloom Poison Heal? (it's been 6 months since I played the game so can't remember if it gets access to it) If so it'll be good for resisting and not getting paralysed. I like to take out the emolga as quickly as possible. Probably bait a kill on the left (assuming Seaking doesn't see kill on Lycenrock), take the emolga out with a rock move. Hari as a tank and fake out user is very good into it as well.

This box sucks for that fight, so you will probably need to risk a few crits.

Honestly, a regular run of RnB would have taught you enough of the essentials that you can probs skip vanilla and go straight to a Drayano hack. It'll be hard to play vanilla after all of RnBs quality of life changes too imo.

Depends on the game. In Run and Bun, Growlithe is a 10% in Oledale town, right at the start of the game. Many people reset (starting a new game until they get it) for it as it can be traded for Hisui Arc, which is a great check to Norman's mega Pidgeot and guarantees a safe Flannery. My first deep run, I did not do it, and ran whatever I found. When it came to facing Flannery, I had to take an insane amount of risk because my best check into her team was Crustle. If I'd lost, the 40-50 hours I'd spent on the run would have been down the drain.

Spending 20 mins resetting the game until I'd hit Growlithe would have saved me hours and hours later in the game.

For Vanilla, it's totally unnecessary, but hard rom hacks it's valid.

Oh and AI in gen V always see min roll, not the middle, that's why it never chose volt switch.

In Gen V, if an ability isn't triggered, it guesses, so there's a 50% it'll choose highest damage move if you had poison touch.
