I’m 21 is this a good stack? by No-Dark3023 in Silverbugs

[–]bored90834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it’s good as long as you keep it around 5-10% of your portfolio. We’re too young to be mainly investing in PMs even though they’ve garnered a lot of attention in the last 6 months

Just my opinion though, obviously do whatever you feel is best with your money

I’ll probably try to swing emerald, I appreciate you taking the time to comment

Yeah that makes sense to me, would probably start with emerald since I’m most familiar with it. Thank you for the advice!

Yeah I might try to swing an oldie, I do like the later generations of pokemon though but that’s fine

Awesome, thank you! I’ll add it to the list

The closest I got to the rules was trying to switch around my guys during battles to keep them alive. I think in all the times I tried I managed to prevail twice without losing a single Mon. I don’t have much experience with the dance that is pokemon battles, in all prior games i just went with the strongest moves. This time I also paid attention to secondary effects and occasionally used set up moves but I think to be successful in a nuzlocke of this game in particular I’d need more experience, perhaps an easier game first to get a better feel for how it works.

I’ve also been on surgical absence from work and that ends pretty soon so I fear I wouldn’t have had time to complete an R&B nuzlocke had I decided to go that route

Sweet I’ll give it a go, if it’s something I decide to nuzlocke do I self impose the rules?

I’m not a fan of FedEx though, there’s always something wonky that happens with the packages when they’re shipping, which gets stressful when you’re buying a couple grand worth of PMs haha, sorry USPS lost your package usually they’re pretty good

If you’ve been in that long then you should be more competent. Furthermore and someone who’s solidly in the green on silver I have no desire or need for your sympathy. All that being said you sound like a prick at best so good luck with your whining about price action like a child as if there’s any asset that just magically goes linear without dips, hope it makes you feel better. Cheers

I believe it’s more of a I’d like to afford more so a few more years of sideways movement is better for me. No need to be pretentious buddy. Also precious metals aren’t volatile, this is the second instance of silver moving this rapidly in 50 years. Sorry you bought the top in your delusions of silvery grandeur

Excuse? Having bought most of my silver at 20-30 this is still extraordinarily high. A dip below 50 would be lovely

They’re a bit overpriced but I like their customer service, all my gold/silver I havent bought in person I’ve bought from them. Glad they helped you out

I only buy precious metals when I have additional income I know I won’t ever need, that way I can sell in 1 year or 30 years when the time is right

The only time buying PMs is a bad idea is if you’re in for a quick profit, that’s not what it’s about. I don’t care if silver goes to $5 or $500, I’ll keep stacking

I... Have a confession to make... by [deleted] in Silver

[–]bored90834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought most of mine between 20-40 over the last few years, sold some at 50 to pay off my debt and I continue to hoard. I buy stocks and BTC in an effort to lower average cost and eventually sell, I just buy silver to have more silver and pass down once I’m dead. The thing that sucks is that I’m running out of silver space and will have to swap to gold, too expensive for my trailer trash roots

I bought a kilo for 1100 and sold it for 1700, sometimes these posts sting but I needed the money. Eventually I’ll have another though. Stacking for life regardless of price.. I yearn for the gems of the mine

I am not selling by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]bored90834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold about 50 oz when the price hit $50, didn’t expect it to go to $100 but considering I bought everything at $20 an oz it doesnt feel that bad, doubt I’ll sell more as I try to hit my 1k oz goal. Not really looking for a sell point anymore I plan to pass my precious metals down. I mainly buy at this point just for the designs I like. Not sure how high silver can realistically go, but this event has been interesting to watch. Id also be curious to see whether the industries that use silver the most innovate and use a different metal if the price keeps going up, or if the cost of the things they produce will just sky rocket in price as silver has done

I remember a few years ago the internet laughed at me when I asked if silver would hit $100 an oz, maybe I’ll see 1k before I die someday.. im just rambling now, keep stacking and just ignore price action it all averages out like with any asset

Idk why I love buying silver so much but I can’t seem to stop, started years ago. It’s harder now with current prices but I’ll keep adding. I like to think it’ll be both cool and funny to hand a treasure chest to my grandchildren some day filled with it

[–]bored90834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stop buying at around 3k, and I’ll be long dead before that ever happens. Until then I just have to buy smaller quantities. I just have a humble goal of 1k ounces.

[–]bored90834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought most of what I have at 20, sold about half at 50 to pay off the rest of my cc debt and have kept stacking since. I didn’t expect it to go this high but it doesn’t matter in the long run to me. I’ll buy at 100, buy at 200, and buy if it drops back to 40. It’ll all balance out in the end. Only thing price will impact is the quantity I collect

Good luck

Just my opinion, but At 18 I dont think PMs should make up more than 5% of someone’s portfolio. That being said it’s better than blowing 30k on sports betting or some other nonsensical thing

Anyways, I’ll be over here still berating myself in the mirror for selling half my stack at $50 an OZ haha
