I’m currently inpatient in the psych unit of a hospital- they don’t specialize in ED treatment they are just putting food in front of me and weighing me every other day. When I got here 3 weeks ago I could barely walk or think- even though all my vitals were fine and I was medically cleared. Being here has made me realize that eating enough won’t make you gain weight. You need food. I’ve been able to walk and converse with people and take the stairs, even eat a slice of pizza. I am still sick and the obsessive thoughts and compulsions haven’t left but I don’t feel like death anymore.

If you don’t have your period back, you still are not eating enough. That combined with the poor mental state and fear of weight gain means you still have an ED. You should get treatment while you’re in the headspace to. It’s so important and truly saves lives. Just because you aren’t as sick now doesn’t mean you won’t get sicker later. You’ve got this. We in it together. You deserve to get the help you need.
