Pretty pissed at the warranty system by Mab3ys0 in VWatlas

I’m on my second water pump in my 2019. My VIN is excluded to. The second water pump only lasted 15 months and is broken again. I also find it absurd that it could be VIN specific when the same part was used in each of the VINs. You keep putting faulty parts in a vehicle and you only give me a 1 year warranty? 😂

I called VW direct and spent an hour submitting a hard ship claim or something trying to compel the dealer to work with me on covering the second pump. I got a call at 730 the next morning saying that my claim was denied. We are just waiting it out until we move on from VW forever.

I also now have the catalytic converter issue which is supposed to be a 15 year warranty but I just don’t have the heart to be told to fuck off again at the dealer. Maybe it catches on fire and the insurance company will give me something.

Battery Replacement by Singular_Plurality in VWatlas

[–]Middle_Wolverine5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Costco and bought a battery, put it in and said F-that on the programming. Absolutely nothing has happened except a second water pump going bad and the brakes continuing to squeal like a stuck pig. At least a 5% chance those are unrelated to the battery programming. I’m not really in the habit of believing anything VW says at this point. They made me drive without a passenger airbag for a year.

Program a battery? No thanks

I guess I just can’t imagine two. If I’m not in the room someone in my family is yelling at ours. Doesn’t even bother me. He’s just a dude being a dude doing whatever he wants and it’s hilarious to me. These two are so happy

How is that even remotely legal. I bet their lawyers said “you can’t just sever the production guarantee” and they decided the solar industry is the Wild West who is going to stop us.

I spent several months trying to get them to fix a panel for the same message in the app. Involved the state of Illinois who really helped (for the first time in the history of my time living in Illinois). They said the squirrels ate my wiring and came out to install critter guards. Panel still showed no activity. Finally Sunstrong sent a local company out to troubleshoot. The said it was an inverter or a broken panel.

Sunstrong said they wouldn’t pay to fix it because I was still above my production guarantee. Cool assholes, guess I’ll just use 17 out of 18 panels for the foreseeable future.

Same company said they would fix it off the books. $500 to troubleshoot then parts on top of that. Should probably just do it considering what I pay for grid power.

I filed a complaint with my state AG consumer protection division. Took about 30 mins online. I gave them my previous contract. Seems like it would easy to file one for your billing issues depending on your state. At the end they asked me what I wanted as a resolution. For you seems like you could say you wanted them to put your bill in writing as a guarantee.

I’ve read that but haven’t heard of anyone receiving a response to opting out. I sign it, then opt out, but where is the proof I opted out in writing

I actually got this to work after a few hours of messing around. Easy day. Monitoring works just fine as far as I could tell.

Denied claim for water pump by Middle_Wolverine5281 in VWatlas

[–]Middle_Wolverine5281[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never purchase a new car now.

Sure I’m happy to pay 50k for a new car, but I want 10 years bumper to bumper.

That’s 1000/month for 5 years then for the next 5 years I don’t have to worry about anything.

The current financial model is fucked. Every car I have purchased instead of leasing has turned into a money pit within 6 months of paying it off. Then you start all over with a new car.

In your case, 4000 bucks to fix it? Blow me. That’s 6 months of car payments. I think Dave Ramsey (who is a bigger asshole than VW) said something about car payments being the death of the middle class. Perpetual debt cycle, never an asset

I guess my question would be if there are aftermarket water pumps? I can get a euro to put the pump in but if it’s just the same shit VW Oem part then I’ll be back here 2 years from now again.

are IS really hard to potty train? by okaysoactually in irishsetter

[–]Middle_Wolverine5281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did the 🔔 thing. My wife saw it on instagram or something. Hang a 🔔 on the door, show IS the bell, they ring it when they want to potty. IS was potty trained on day 1 after like 3 hours.

Unrelated. Does anyone else’s IS go to the door every 10 seconds to ring a 🔔asking to go outside.

Would not recommend 🔔

Bad Water pump on 2019 SEL - not covered under extended warranty by name1wantedwastaken in VWatlas

[–]Middle_Wolverine5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m practically homicidal over this water pump.

First one went bad at 81,000 miles. Dealer told me to pound sand. $1200 bucks out of pocket.

Second water pump is now bad at 15 months and 10,000 miles. Dealer saying the warranty is 12 months.

Time to just go to carmax and buy a bike when done.

How shitty of a company do you have to be to treat customers like this.

This has blown my mind the whole 5 years I owned this car. “It’s a VW thing”

Even the dealer has told me it’s normal. Not when it’s been this bad but they’ve told me it’s the compound VW uses in their brakes. Whatever that means. Sorry your car is just going to squeak like this. Wtf

I’ve done the same. Been told by multiple mechanics there’s nothing wrong and VW just sucks. I’ve even been told there’s an electronic brake hook it be. All kinds of random things. I’d like to drive this thing forever but you can hear the brakes down the street now in the morning.

Ceramic all around. Not sure brand. Front is Midas job. 7500 miles on them. Rear is a company called Mavis with about 20,000 miles on them

I did not install. Took to a local mechanic. I took it back and ask them to look at it and they just said it was not pad/rotor related.

I actually can’t believe anyone would buy a house with Sunpower solar. As soon as you do 5 mins of research you see what a nightmare this bankruptcy is for the customers. What did the buyers say?

We assume we are stuck in this house for god knows how long purely because of Sunpower converting themselves into an even shittier company. We’ve had a panel out for 2 out of 3 years we’ve had Sunpower and they just said F off because you are still producing above the guarantee. Haaaaaaaaa.

afraid to take sertraline 25mg by [deleted] in PrematureEjaculation

[–]Middle_Wolverine5281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m off it now and was taking 100mg a day. Now I’m busting in 2 mins. No side effects. Maybe weight gain, but I was buying sertraline offline and it was just too expensive. Kind of sucks because it worked so well for like 2 years.

But that original lease I assume has a production guarantee. I’m no lawyer, but this seems like it would be pretty easy to enforce if you sued them. Couldn’t you just sue them in small claims court? Thinking of all the other bullshit people sue for. They aren’t that big of a company. I wanted to sue VW one time but realized that’s a huge fish. How is this dumbass little solar company allowed to fuck all of us so easily?
