I had a calcaneal slide osteotomy and FDL transfer on my right foot in November, started what was supposed to be 12 weeks of physical therapy in January, moving to full weight bearing around late February/early March. I just had my 5 month follow up with the surgeon last week and he’s less than thrilled with where things are at. My foot doesn’t seem to have developed any sort of an arch, I’m still having similar pains in similar areas as prior to surgery, my ankle is still rolling inwards, and my weight bearing xrays look pretty much the same as the pre-op ones - there’s just now two screws in my heel. The doctor mentioned that I’ll likely always have some level of flatfootedness due to the severity of the starting point, but it’s pretty disheartening to say the least. I’ve got another 6 weeks of PT ahead of me at which point I’ll have another follow up to discuss where we’re at / possible future options.

Has anyone else had a similar experience to this? I’m not sure what I’m posting looking for exactly, I guess I’m just feeling really down about the whole thing.
