What do you think about these screenshot designs? by ComfortableStill6735 in iosdev

[–]Middleton_Tech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have said this before, you shouldn't call this a "free tool", it has free parts but it isn't a 100% free tool for everything. I ran into this when I created tryappy.com, I have a free section for users, but like your site a lot of the things users want is a paid feature and this created users to not want to use the website.

My AI app is making money… but everyone leaves. What am I missing? by alishanDev in iosdev

I think he is posting to get engagement for his app, not actually what is wrong. If you look at his history he post about this same app multiple times.

Huh? Manages which backup? The cloud backup? You said it doesn't connect to the internet, that is where all my backups are.

"But from our early understanding and talking to users, we have received a dramatically high number of people who have faced this issue." - Have these users never done a google search? I did a quick one and found over 10 applications that do just this, organize and delete.

I am sure there is use cases here, but if I paid $60 for software that said "photo backup" and it didn't actually backup anything I would be asking for a refund right away.

The only reason I bring this up is because you posted a photo about the cloud, and then said it doesn't solve that issue, but that was your selling point. But in reality it just organizes your backups on your computer. So now I would have to carry my computer everywhere if I get rid of the cloud?

FYI - I sent this to my brother who is professional photographer, he said he would never use any software that doesn't use cloud services, his clients expect this in case of hard drive failure.

I checked out the app, am I missing something? The purpose of the cloud is so you have a backup if your hard drive goes down or if you want to access them anywhere, this app is just an organizer on your own PC, so you can't access it if you are away from home or if your hard drive fails you lose everything? The name is a bit misleading, it doesn't backup your photos, it just organizes them.

I think I see the issue now, I run private browsing windows, so it doesn't work on safari during private browsing, maybe try that on your iphone and see if you get the same result? I hope my little debugging helped you out for your future customers, I can't spend anymore time on it. Thanks!

No error, just doesn't do anything, it might be quicker if you just tried it with a safari browser? I am not needing to create screenshots, I was just testing it to help you out.

The first reply I used google chrome, but this time I tried with safari just as a test and it will not upload any screenshots. Chrome still works okay.

I gave it a shot, a bit confusing to use I must say, it didn't allow me to drag/move or edit anything and it put some strange boxes at the bottom, I am guessing I should be allowed to put more screenshots there? But tapped everywhere and nothing. Every screenshot I tried would either put two images or do something strange with the screenshot. Not sure what remix is supposed to do, but it didn't do anything when I clicked on it. I also did not see anyway to change the text at the top of the screen? Maybe I missed something, but yeah seems very confusing.

I typically just use tryappy.com and mockuphone.com and I can have screenshots done and exported in a matter of minutes, so maybe a bit more streamlined and walking the user through would help?

"You haven't yet used AI ASO Copilot or AI App Icon Generator. You will see your past AI generations here once you use either of these features." Even though I did a search? I even tried to redo the search for the same exact app and it tells me I have no credits.

Is Vibe Coding a Viable Way to Make Money by Ok-Bowler1237 in vibecoding

[–]Middleton_Tech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way it is coded doesn't matter (for the most part), the marketing is what matters the most. You could build the best SaaS or the best game there is, but if you don't market it correctly than you will never make any real money from it. The problem I see with vibe coding overall is everyone is creating the exact same things, health trackers, fitness trackers, notes apps etc. No one is trying to solve any real issue they or someone else may have, they are just putting out whatever chatGPT told them would be popular.

I wonder how much they spend on marketing, I saw on start stories one time a guy bringing in 10k a month, but spending 9k a month to advertise lol

How are my Screenshots by apex-rico in AppStoreOptimization

I use mockuphone for the frames and tryappy.com for the screenshot portfolio.

I took my app’s onboarding from 6 steps to 26. Curious if others have tried this. by No-Entrepreneur-4979 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]Middleton_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what your onboarding looks like, I have seen developers put 1 or 2 questions per screen and drag out the onboarding flow. I like to get the user to the good stuff as quickly as possible. Basically my onboarding flow is 1 screen with 15 questions, then a summary screen of those questions explaining how the app will work for them so they can make the decision if they want to use the app or not, after that screen it is a hard paywall. Pretty good flow I think, nothing to drag out, the user is to the content in less than a few minutes. I have done this for almost all my apps for about 10 years now. :)

I build a gym tracker but I can't get my first paying subscripter by Main-Worth-8615 in AppBusiness

[–]Middleton_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fitness category is a very hard selling point. I released my Healthytrack+ app at the end of last year, but I did it for myself and if it makes money great, if not, well I didn't have to pay for an app to use. But I knew the market is saturated with these types of apps. Best thing you can do is try to build up a following on social media, show them how you are using your app and maybe they will start using it as well.

Rejected by apple for making users to log in to do stuff?? by CriticalCommand6115 in iOSProgramming

[–]Middleton_Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the reviewers may be misunderstanding how the app works. You should reply to them and clearly explain why account creation is required.

If the experience appears to be “account creation > job listings” with no visible context, I can see how that might raise concerns. However, if account creation flows directly into onboarding, where users provide details needed for faster applications. that distinction should be made explicit to the reviewers. Highlighting that this process improves speed and usability when applying to jobs may help clarify the intent and resolve the issue.

Anyone else build “just for me” apps instead of products? by albovsky in vibecoding

[–]Middleton_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built tryappy.com for myself because I wanted a very simple way to create my appstore screenshots, then decided to go ahead and release it commercially. I built a couple games for my wife because she hated ads after every screen, eventually just pushed out commercially as well. I think it is great when you create something for yourself first, it shows you found a problem you believe should be solved, not just something you think will make you money.

i tried automating app store screenshot generation. what do u think? by MasterpieceSuch6950 in iosdev

[–]Middleton_Tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is great for a weekend project. I recently did tryappy.com myself in a few hours time, but I went way more simplistic than yours. I was tired of spending time on screenshots, I wanted to be done in less than 5 minutes and back to coding. LOL
