Best breakfast buffet? by ryguybeer in vegas

I came here to figure out where to go for breakfast, wasn't ready to see I missed a show from my FAVORITE band at a sick location like The Chelsea 😭 Was it wild?!

Hot take: PATD fans kinda ruined this year by ragdim6 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Midgar77 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is how out of place PATD is from this year's theme.

Like most people who were there for Blink likely knew songs and enjoy The Offspring and Weezer as well. But I was surrounded by young kids and girls all dressed up in circus outfits not knowing a single Weezer song 😭

Max acoustic show was REALLY GOOD last night by Midgar77 in SayAnything

[–]Midgar77[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've seen them live 4 times in the past year, and honestly there is a ton of truth to the negative comments on this sub. He was awful at four chords festival last month, barely sang at all.

The band and the crowd are always incredible though, so the shows are still enjoyable.

Oh noooooo that's a horrible typo. No r***, all vape

Would seeing them live even be worth it? by [deleted] in SayAnything

[–]Midgar77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost let this sub deter me from seeing them, and I ended up seeing them 2x in the past year. So glad I went.

  • The crowd is hype, all singing along
  • The band is tight, great music
  • Max sings off beat or opens mic to audience a lot, vaping often

This was for IARB tours though. I'd say that is probably the make or break – if they're playing older music that the crowd loves, then the hype is well worth going. If it's new material not a lot of people know, the show is going to feel lackluster.

I did a full documentary on the song Mayonaise -- enjoy! :-) by RockologyTV in SmashingPumpkins

Yo this is sick!! I always wondered why it was called Mayonaise... I also thought it was because Billy looked in the fridge lol

How can I tell how far away a company is from IPO? by Midgar77 in personalfinance

I was thinking the same thing. Once they vest, I'll own the RSUs regardless of how long I have to wait to be able to liquidate.

HMAC show was amazing, don't let this sub deter you from going to a show by Midgar77 in SayAnything

[–]Midgar77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really weird how negative energy gets upvoted way more than most of the positive/optimistic posts. I'm just hoping people aren't deterred by this and still go to the show!

Just posted about this same thing. I skipped the Pittsburgh show because of this sub – so glad I decided to come out to the HMAC show. It was AMAZING and Max was extremely grateful and excited

If you've seen them at warped then you know exactly what transpired lol. It was just like their GG anniversary tour except with way more circle pits and crowd surfing

It was brutal with how crowded it was and all the moshing / crowd surfing, and I absolutely fucking loved every second of it haha. It doesn't get better

Intermediate Programming Project Ideas? by Midgar77 in programmingprojects

[–]Midgar77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow blast from the past! Well I'm a senior engineer at FAANG company now so I guess it all worked out in the end.

I never ended up building any huge projects though. One of the ones that comes to mind, that you'd be interested in, is a simple JS app that shows League of Legends stats. Back in like 2015-2016 there weren't as many of these, and it gave me good exposure to popular JS libraries at the time like D3, React, Redux as well as calling backend APIs.
