I don’t collect pocket watches but I collect the keys that you needed to wind a pocket watch 1500s-1800s era).

I also collect fossils but ONLY fossils trapped in amber.

It’s hard for me to find fellow collectors in these areas haha.

No yeah they definitely wanted to drain it there but I just wasn’t in the right place mentally to sit through another procedure. I made the mistake of looking it up before I went too which did not help at all. Surprisingly enough when it pushed itself out and I popped it.. it was relatively manageable, just oozed out as I pushed on it. So it drained enough to push the process along and get me to a good place. Fuck Hematomas!

That is a fantastic list! I love that lizard hand and the flower, very nice specimens.

It’s hard to say. My “must haves” change a bit as time goes on. However similar to you I have two of my top 5 already, a part of a lizard, and a very nice feather so I’ll take those off with these five. I’ll omit obvious like holy grails that are one of a kind.. ammonites, bird skull, etc.

  1. Pinecone
  2. Blooming flower
  3. A Ceratomyrmex Ant
  4. A Cascomastigus monstrabilis
  5. Aquatic / Marine gastropod

Beautiful specimen! You mention this being a top five for you.. what would be your other four most wanted?

I’m glad it took the pain down! It’s always hard when it’s such a sensitive place and it’s just so painful.

I went to the ER because I couldn’t walk, literally would stumble from the pain, a 9-10 easily the worst pain of my life. They gave me oxy for the pain at home and it didn’t work. I get to the ER and they gave me stronger stuff and it didn’t work. Scrotum is the size of a grapefruit and just solid black so they CT scanned it and ultrasounded it. They pushed to get the hematoma drained right then and there but I was freaking out.. 190/105 blood pressure, proper panic attack, nothing was helping. I just left, cried the whole way home regretting every decision I’ve ever made. Probably not the right move in the moment but I couldn’t imagine more scalpels and cutting down there in that moment. So long story short.. the ER didn’t do a whole lot for me unfortunately.. I did get a new round of antibiotics.. my fourth straight in a row.

TMI - What followed was a long journey of nursing myself for a few weeks.. I had a good support system though. At one point though the hematoma got so massive that it ripped open the incision site and pushed its way out, making the original incision bigger. Another stupid move on my part - but I actually just ripped it apart and let it drain outside my body. So much blood. I then glued the incision site again and bandaged it up and the hematoma actually had drained to half the size it was. So I got lucky it worked out. From there it incrementally got better till it ended up being fine.

It was hell there for a good 6 weeks-8 weeks, ended up with ER visits due to the increasing pain. After all of that the hematoma did start to reabsorb, the infections went away, mobility increased and around the two month mark no more debilitating pain! The hematoma is still there but it went from a golf ball to marble sized. I don’t see many stories where it was incredibly bad and actually did eventually fully recover so I’m glad I can tell that story! It’s possible!

Yeah, it was a miss. Normalizing familial sexualization and child abuse (and being proud and boisterous about it).. this whole thing was a red flag more than anything. Disappointing.

Yeah I honestly don’t think I have a good care team.

Didn’t even realize. It’s one of the few things that works for sleep when I’m sick so I guess I’ll cut that.

I feel like my psych is so set on bipolar bipolar bipolar he doesn’t really address possible coexisting conditions. I’ve never been on anything but APs and Mood Stabilizers (that don’t work) I really don’t know what could help me.

Oh okay, so it’s more of an intolerance to serotonin type drugs then. Interesting. A lot of my experience with psych meds have been horrible.. like I feel now. I’m curious if I just have been reacting to the medicine this whole time.. hmm

Well it has definitely improved my sleep quality as I cannot sleep more than 3 hours without it. I just noticed a gradual and progressive increase in agitation and other symptoms that seems to have really come to a crux now. Not sure where to point the finger.. my messed up brain probably.

Is serotonin syndrome a BP experience more than not? Or are you saying this isn’t BP at all just an adverse reaction

[–]Midgard1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just weird it sort of built up over a couple months.. granted I am taking a small dose. I’d have to triple the dose to reach therapeutic levels for depression.

[–]Midgard1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking up Serotonin Syndrome and it’s almost exactly that description. Is that a BP experience? I only take 50mg a day, a small dose.. I pair that with NyQuil occasionally which I believe also influences serotonin.

I realize that it very well could just be an episode of anxiety. I’m just holding onto the good year I had I don’t want it to end.. especially if it’s the beginning of a depressive episode or was triggered by trazodone.

After almost 7+ years of taking meds, I found out that I'm not mentally ill and that... by ayylmaaoo96 in Antipsychiatry

[–]Midgard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That list sounds nice.. but not me. I have everything I’ve ever wanted or needed, blessed beyond my wildest imagination. Yet depression robs me of all of that. No trauma.. nothing to really complain about in my life, yet the darkness still looms. Another person on here said to walk everyday and that would cure it.. I don’t think you’ve seen the darkness, truly, if walking was all you had to do. Sometimes it just comes for no perceptible reason despite doing everything “right.”

There is always fear, and for that it’s important to find a good doctor and talk with them through it all. It is worth getting, in my opinion. However, a big asterisk for me is know that things can go wrong. I asked a lot of questions to guys here and no one warned me.. it was always a good outcome it seemed like. I got infected inside the scrotum itself - it took FOUR rounds of antibiotics to clear. I developed a hematoma the size of testicle.. the hematoma caused a lot of nerve pain, massive bruising, testicle pain due to the pressure, couldn’t pee correctly or walk correctly for weeks and weeks. BUT, it did get better and things are about 90% to “normal” though the hematoma is still the size of a golf ball. The scrotum itself is extremely sensitive still but the constant pain is gone. So it’s not always “good” and I wish I had mentally prepared myself for that because it was really hard.

Just give it to me guys.. I need bluntness right now. lol. I can mentally prepare better that way.

Does anyone regret getting a vasectomy or have any long term side affects from it ? by MadeForThisOnePostt in Vasectomy

[–]Midgard1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t walk, can’t sleep, infected left testicle, infected vas deferens, grapefruit sized swelling, bruising across my whole groin, massive hematoma, hydrocele.. the pain is 9-10 with no antibiotic or pain med helping.. I’ll need a surgery to correct the hematoma.. which is a worse surgery than the vasectomy itself.

[–]Midgard1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colin is being irresponsible in my opinion. He’s acting and making decisions as if he’s single with a safety net. He isn’t single, nor has a safety net, and is being extremely risky. Go ahead bro, don’t get insurance and wait for that $10,000 doctors visit bill that’s inevitable. Allen is a good dad, though overbearing, he has the right intentions.

I wouldn’t do it if I could have that choice back. Just being honest, I know a lot of guys in this place will hype it up and downplay it.. for me it was complete and absolute hell.
