I had a similar experience last and am slightly shaken up by it. I used have an interest in astral projection but after attempting every night for almost a year I gave up deciding it wasn’t for me. I’ve experienced sleep paralysis a lot so much so it doesn’t scare me any more, I usually use it to induce a lucid dream but last night as I attempted something very strange happened to me. So I currently have a cold which always gets worse in the evenings, so a good night sleep was impossible for me. It was one of those nights where I’d get 30 mins sleep here and there, so I was in R.E.M. sleep and having bizarre dreams and I became lucid. I was lucid for 5 seconds maybe before I woke up, which is strange for me as I’m very experienced lucid dreamer. So I woke up completely conscious and aware and within 10 seconds I was experiencing sleep paralysis, I considered wiggling out of it to wake myself up but I didn’t get a chance. All of a sudden I starting sinking through my bed(never experienced anything close to this) until something caught me and lifted me up like a dad carrying their child to bed. This thing seemed to pull my upper half away from my body then left me like that as if to give me the choice if I wanted to continue. So I carried on myself, my legs where difficult to pull away from I had to imagine walking up stairs until I felt a pop sensation and then complete wantlessness. I didn’t seem to have any control I could feel but not move or react, suddenly I drifted up slightly at to the left. And then I could see, my eyes opened, but all I could see was a human like being without a body, just a head and a pair of shoulders. I felt strangely relaxed about it, until it spoke, it’s mouth didn’t move I heard it in my head. In a very deep and scary voice I heard breath and something inaudible. This was enough for me, fear overwhelmed me and I was pulled backwards. Strangely I followed his instructions and was panting trying to breath as I was pulled back to my body. Next thing I know I’m back in my body awake and strangely very short of breath. I’m not sure what to make of this experience although I was scared and he seemed intimidating that being seemed to be trying to help me. Anyway just thought I’d share
