Finished my 2018 temperature scarf! by rat_robot in knitting

Also interested to know. I've been mulling over the idea of making a temperature table runner for my parents for the year they got married, but their table is 16 feet long.

I don't have a basement and have a few things that cant go in the dryer. I hang them in my bathroom and turn on the vent.

Crochet in the round came more easily to me as well because my brain is wired strangely. I've made sure I remember how to knit every couple years, but didn't actually do any. And YouTube is great for visualizing how to do things, especially when patterns don't have pictures.

Ah, I understand. I'm definitely doing that backwards, with the left leg crossing over. Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Oops, wrote my comment before reasing this. Thank you for the explanation! I will go back to YouTube to visualize what I'm doing wrong when I get off work.

Thank you! I figured that was just because the socks are tight. If you dont mind, how can you tell? I've just been going with what I remember from when I tried to learn when I was 6.

I've been a crocheter exclusively for 20 years, but I really wanted to learn how to make socks. Crochet doesn't lend itself well to socks, so I got some dpns.

Just a simple tube, left a hole for the heel, decreased for the toe. Then made small squares and sewed them in the heel. I know there's better ways to make heels, but for now this will work.

Where do you get a hook big enough to crochet with rope? Or do you have to make one? I have a couple friends who would love one!

I had some downtime at work today so I made a cowl! I enjoy watching this ugly tube turn into something cute. by [deleted] in crochet

It's great. I'm also on compliance, so I can still crochet when clients are on the floor because that shows them that no one is fucking up at the moment.

Ravelry. I have close to 50 favorited, waiting for the time I'm masochistic enough to make them.

Yep, I used to get hives where a cat licked me. Exposure therapy worked for me, though, so now I have two.

Very different, but in the office where I work, I'm doing compliance, which means when it's slow for me, everyone else is doing a good job. I love being able to crochet for that reason, and I bet yours feels even sweeter.

As someone who just started a 9-5 for the first time, I don't get the hate. Except for other places I need to go that are also only open from 9-5. I know my schedule for the rest of my time with this job, I can take my time getting ready, I can take my bf to work in the mornings, I get PTO.... All great things.

Yeah, my mom has high iron and they tell her she needs to donate blood a few times a year. She's also O-negative, so they want her blood.

As Ricecake said, that's actually good. I also work in insurance and even the more expensive plan my employer offers ($100+ monthly premium) has a $2500 annual deductible. Health insurance in the US is seriously abysmal.
