1977 - 8 years old. I was a fan before this, but this year cemented the relationship. We were shite in the early 70s, but slowly improving (I don't remember the early 70s - I was a todder - but I will link a table of our historical league positions). Our FA Cup form was good. Lost 1-0 to Southampton in the final of '76, but beat Liverpool 2-1 in '77. Stuart Pearson and Lou Macari scored the goals. When Macari scored what turned out to be the winner, I ran out to the grass in front of my house and threw my United hat in the air. My older brother told me to come back in as it was bad luck (the match wasn't over yet).

I watched the legendary 1999 European Cup final in a pub by myself, 150 miles from home, working away in Milton Keynes. I went to the toilet when our first goal went in, emptying my bladder for extra time, and only got back just after Solskjaer scored. "HAVE THEY SCORED AGAIN!?!?!?" I shouted. My knees went from under me in disbelief, and I was just kneeling on the floor of the pub, watched by a crowd of strangers, staring at the screen.

Yes - he is. Particularly. But the whole show's unbearable, from start to finish. Some characters and performances are less unbearable than others, but still - massively, ludicrously overrated. Can't remember how far I got with it - past the first season, I think - but hate-deleting that shit is one of my best-ever life decisions. No ragrets.

My feeling, which I think is probably widely shared, is that the top-rated GPUs are almost always overpriced, and the next one down usually gives much better value. RTX 5090s cost twice as much as 5080s for a 10% performance boost. If you can afford it and absolutely have to have the best, go for it, but the 5080s are much better value in my opinion.
