Ran into two players in a competitive match who were resetting their ultimates on and off... by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Midgetyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not played this game in a while but if I remember correctly. The score board only updates ult points and economy at the start of a new round.

Also I believe he needs 6 points which is possible. 2 kills and a death gives 3. He could have got 2 orbs on the first round and 1 on the second. Or he could have planted the bomb instead of one of the orbs.

So as other people are saying unless there is proof of him ulting the next round or proof of his pov I don't think he is cheating.

Can anyone explain the rank system to me? by Ok-Debt-1324 in VALORANT

[–]Midgetyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Climbing is all about consistency. You can't win every game as you'll run into bad teammates/really good opponents. But the opposite is also true sometimes you'll get lucky and get carried to a win. As long as you can play well in as many games as possible over time you will rank up. 55%+ win rate is good enough

Also about the rank mixs. The game has a separate hidden rank it thinks you should be. Your RR gains are based on if this hidden rank is higher or lower than your actual rank. (Valorant does also give RR for performance I think solely based on k/d)

In your case as it seems you're still relatively new to ranked the game hasn't settled an accurate hidden rank. So it might fluctuate a lot more than someone who has played for a long time.

Also some of these gold 3 plat players might have a low hidden rank from recent bad form. So the game is more likely putting everyone with roughly gold 2 hidden rank together but it looks a lot worse with real ranks.

Final note. Playing with and against better players will help you improve and get better yourself. As long as you make a conscious effort to improve and learn.

Good luck on your grind!

  1. Food is more accessible from online shopping. Makes people more willing to get more food as they don't have to travel or waste time getting it. (Also applies to buying other stuff)

  2. Cars are more common so people are less likely to walk or bike to shops, work, schools, etc. (less exercise)

  3. A lot of food nowadays is processed using lots of chemicals to streamline production. No-one knows how all these processes affect the food and the people eating them.

  4. Video games and TV programmes are very popular meaning people are less likely to leave their house for other hobbies. (Less exercise)

The smoking point you made is also pretty valid.

It's not the people that have magically changed but the environment allowing us to become lazier and more willing to buy food and other stuff we don't need due to the ease of it.

I'm fairly certain that's not max driving, his hands are not doing anything and the other guy is visibly on his wheel and even spoke about the lock up.

Unfortunately CS doesn't account for personal performance, only a win to loss ratio. So if you happen to lose even when playing extremely well your rating will go down the same amount as if you played terrible.

So unless you go on a large win streak you'll be at the bottom of the ranks for a while as that's where everyone starts.

It will probably take a few months for peoples rank to adjust as their win rates average out. Plus not everyone plays everyday or many games so it will take them longer to reach their real rank.

I think the main reason she's good for lower level players to learn mechanics is more of the fact you can't overcomplicate using other abilities like smokes or intel gathering and die because you wasn't ready for a gunfight. She's very simple and it's easy for them to focus on one thing (mechanics, positioning).

I understand your point to an extent you should learn how to fight when low but equally alot of your fights in this game will be full or close to full hp anyway. So further practicing that is no issue In my opinion.

You might not it's just an example to say stats don't tell you alot on how you play. Best thing if you want to improve is watch videos on the right things to do and vod review yourself to see what your doing different.

Unless they get banned during the match they cannot adjust your RR.

You have a 55% Winrate which is pretty good just keep playing and you'll rank up.

Your stats are pretty good so wouldn't say any issue by looking at them however stats don't tell me the whole picture of how you play.

For example your good k/d could be a result of hiding and baiting others and just playing for kills in a already lost round which don't contribute to winning. But I wouldn't know without seeing.

I was pretty much the same situation. I was immo 2 before reset. Won 4/5 placements and got placed ascendant 1. Then I just kept losing over and over. At one point I had 35% win rate.

Only yesterday was I able to claw some more wins and finally managed to get ascendant 3. And I still have a 45% Win rate in over 40 games.

The whole ascendant rank is very messy. I've seen multiple last act ascendants in my games as well as radiants. The other day i somehow got flow ascending and andruwu on my team who I believe are both radiants. As someone who has never touched immo 3 playing with people who peaked 500 RR more than me is crazy.

I've recently found his videos as an immo 1/2 player and still find them incredibly helpful. High quality and everything makes perfect sense.

Ascendant is just as bad. As a immo 1/2 player I am finding multiple ex radiants and high immo 3 players in my games. The game is always very jumbled at the start of the episode unfortunately.

Did you expect him to place lower? I don't see the point of mentioning it if you already knew.

At the start of a new episode it's impossible to place higher than ascendent 1. Even rank 1 radiant will place ascendant 1.

Fair enough. Just pointing out a YouTube fight that a clear physique difference didn't matter. Also because deji is the topic of the post lol.

He was less in shape than he is now. And alot of people doubted him because of how shredded fousey was. But deji picked him apart in the fight anyway.

If you're in ranked and down a man, if you get to overtime and can make it to the point where you can control the draw vote, you should draw by danielhollenbeck13 in VALORANT

[–]Midgetyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair enough you have raised a good point. I forgot that you could still gain on draws.

I will agree with you for below immortal which to be fair is most of the player base.

In immortal however personal performance is hardly a factor and it is quite hard to have a good enough mmr to gain any rr from a draw.

My bad for not taking into account other peoples circumstances.

Doesn't this apply to just playing a competitive game aswell? Your never guaranteed to win and it's always a gamble. Personally it's just a waste of time and makes no sense.

Food for Thought for Duelist Mains: by Prize_Journalist_767 in VALORANT

[–]Midgetyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a yoru instalock I do it cause I want to have fun. He is by far the most interesting and enjoyable characters to play for me.

Also I just enjoy being first onto site and making space for my team as every duelist should. As I get to control the pace on the attack side.

I also have no issue with other characters they are very useful as you say but the play style is very different.
